hey! This is super neat! Never thought that tank controls on a top down RPG would be so fun! Good job!

Great use of the music, it's a really neat concept. Solidly made, the visuals work too. While it's an unusual and creative way of moving the character in this style of game, I have to say that I'm not a fan of the tank controls. And I didn't really understand when or how I got weapon upgrades. All in all, good work.

What i nice game. Reminded me a lot about Noita. I am not a fan of how the player controls, but that is just my preference. Good work. Solid game.

Very fun to play and explore. I liked the clever use of the music style causing different healing and attack energy. Fun and consistent aesthetic. I liked the enemy bounce back and appreciated the increased health to start so I could progress. As mentioned, player nav took a bit to get used to. Overall fun and enjoyable gameplay.

I liked the simple yet nicely polished graphics. This is a great example of keeping it simple and doing it well. The controls were my biggest bug bear, I found it really difficult to move and shoot where I wanted, I would have preferred WASD to move and shoot where the mouse is pointing or a twin stick layout with the arrow keys for shooting. I thought the dungeons were a little confusing to navigate as once I'd cleared a lot of the monsters I found myself walking endlessly looking for the next stair case. I did really like the addition of a friendly AI to help me kill the boss thought! Nice effort! Oh - Edit - The weapon upgrades were really cool!

Thanks! Yes, the movement choice was a mistake, will do it differently next time.  The dungeons are randomly made, which was cool for me as a programmer, but hand-made dungeons would probably be better for the player. I'll take those lessons to the next project!

Enjoyed this one! The controls took some time to get the hang of, but the song you made for the jam is an absolute banger, and the variety of enemies and bullet mechanics were really solid

Thank you, glad you liked the music!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the movement isn't the easiest to get used to.

Charming and fun game. It took a while to get use to the movement, but I did eventually make my way to the end. The spread gun was especially satisfying to use. Solid entry.

Btw, I recognised your avatar from your YouTube channel, keen to see some more Adventures of Bob someday :)

Thank you! Yes I will certainly return to The Adventures Of Bob one way or another. Just have been crazy busy lately...

The car-like movement felt a bit weird at first but got the hang of it after a while. With that kind of movement, the best weapon was the homing projectiles since I could just move around while holding the shoot key and enemies would die eventually. The game is fun and feels really smooth. the tying of the type of weapon to the song is a nice touch. I beat the boss thanks to that guy I helped at the start. It was an epic adventure.

Fun game and neat graphics overall. Very nice work!

Thanks for the comment and nice words! Yeah the movement probably wasn't the best choice for this game, but I stuck to it so I could finish the game.
