Very enjoyable game!

Great game, I really liked the artstyle and the idea of diving deeper into a crime case. i also like how there are different kind of clues that are available to solve these cases, but they feel isolated because only one is needed to solve each case. Maybe having cases use more clues to find the suspect could have made the game more fun.

Game Design is good

I love these sort of private investigator concepts! The concept is strong and the music is very nicely selected and placed. Overall, I feel that the team that made this has a very strong sense of vision, and would probably be great product owners too. In terms of execution, I have a couple of recommendations 1) Stylistically, the UI needs some tweaking in my opinion so that it is consistent from frame to frame, so that it translates a whodunnit sort of noir feeling (different fonts than the ones used), and so that the text is aligned and properly padded in their containers). 2) Suggest a language pass for these writing-heavy games; if you're low on native speaker resources there's always ChatGPT for a grammar check :D 3) The AI imaging worked just enough but the AI VO felt too choppy and robotic to work for a game type that is supposed to be smooth, gritty, and time-period-eseque. You could maybe get away with that for a sci-fi game, if you know what I mean!

I really like the music, the concept, and the gameplay itself, the pixel art is very nice but I like shaded stuff more (though this is more of a personal preference so I didn't remove any points for that), my main issues with this are some really weird choices for how evidence is proposed, for example, in the second case it would be genius if in the newspapers it had said that hallucination mushrooms are often put in cheese or something like that, but because that isn't present, the only thing we have to go off of is "suspect looked nervous" which is not a good point of evidence. And then there's AI usage, which I really do not respect, I'd rather have bad voice acting than AI-generated voice acting (and I think those story images were also AI-generated?), since that's just lazy. As for small issues, there were typos like one of the expiration dates being 19901, which I don't mind too much but just saying in case you update the game after the jam.
I also was off-putted by mentions of nsfw things in the first case, but overall I did enjoy the game

Great game. It felt like some weird mix between papers please and bioshock, for some reason. but I really enjoyed it. the small stories of each murder where interesting and the art style was also good.

Great game. keep it up♥

I really enjoyed the sound design of the game including the music! I thought it was a really cool idea and loved the littel details (Suspects looking side to side). Quite heavy on the reading side though.

Cool atmosphere and game concept.

Very nice gangster atmosphere. I would interesting how to generate a lot of cases for such a game.

Very nice and unique game! I enjoyed playing it, but I felt like there was too much text throughout the game. Condensing it would help the game become more fun.

An original one, the first I see in this style since the start of submissions! A simple add but I love the fact we can change the music on the radio. But yes, as some of other comments said, there can be moments where we feel overwhelmed by that quantity of text, especially when around there is a vast majority of fast-paced games.

Not my kind of game but I can appreciate the originality of it. Someone else might like it if they played papers please

Nice take on the theme! This game reminded me of "Papers, Please" in it's art form and attention to detail - very good. I loved the music, cut scenes, and the story. Only thing that I would suggest for improvement is to try and find some way to reduce the text - I know it's a difficult ask since the idea is to read the newspaper but I found myself skimming through the blocks of text and not really retaining all the information all that well. Otherwise this is a great game especially for a first game jam submission, great job!

Nice game, great art, good execution! The only thing is there's a LOT of text.

Good work! Cutscenes are a very cool addition, I'd love to see this developed keeping the cutscene art style in the gameplay. Good mechanics, good game! Well done.

The polish on this game is outstanding. Great take on the theme too. I love the radio too. It adds so much atmosphere. This is one of my favorite entries so far for sure.
