Very well made! Loved the sprites, the sounds, the impact on the enemies and the simple shop and upgrade system! Congrats, it was really fun!

Like the retro artwork. Very nice graphics. I also like the hud elements and the boss down below! I stand behind the feedback of my dev buddy Resurrected Studio on some game feel improvements. A solid entry! Congrats!

It was cool to see was had a similar-ish take on the theme! The pixel art graphics are great! Its good to see you stuck to a colour palette as not colours clash with each other! The movement and gameplay is super smooth as well!

"This game is good. Love the pixel art, good UI, animated boss, and cool doors for upgrades. Here are some easy-to-implement tips to make this game even better:

  1. Explosions and Particle Effects: Adding explosions and particle effects would be amazing. They will contribute significantly to the overall "Game Feel."
  2. Hit Delay (Freeze Frame): Consider adding a super short freeze frame when a hit occurs. This small delay can enhance the impact and make the gameplay more dynamic.
  3. Money Disappearance/Sinking Mechanic: Make the money disappear or sink slowly. This can introduce a gameplay mechanic where players have to go deeper to collect their rewards.

Please don't feel offended by these tips; you've already created an awesome game. I just wanted to provide some points for improvement.

Thanks for the playing and the feedback. I 100% agree with your points. I'm seriously considering continuing work on this after the jam.

The sprite work is some of the best I've seen in this jam so far! Absolutely loved the enemy designs and the eldtritch boss at the end. I think the bullets could deal a little more damage, as it got to a point where killing the eye fish without spending all 3 missiles was very difficult. You guys could also make the boss flash white like the rest of the enemies when it gets hit, just to make it more clear that the player is damaging the boss over time. Given a little more time, this could become an amazing mobile game! Congratulations!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I did plan to make the boss flash when it takes damage, but I ran out of time on that. Each other other sprites have an overlay that I just toggle on and off for that. The boss has a whole bunch of sprites that I just didn't get a chance to make overlays for. In hindsight, I probably should have just did the flash using some a shader parameter or something.

i love it its so addictive and fun!!

Nice pixel art design for the theme of jam.

The game is very well-balanced and addictive. Although there are a few enemy types, it provides great variety in gameplay. Would love to see more features added to the game as it already has a basis for something I would play regularly. I appreciate the retro-inspired gameplay.

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Wow this is really polished! Love the graphics and enemy design, I'm surprised at how different each enemy plays! Very fun game, amazing work!

Submitted

nice game, cool pixel art, the enemies are quite unique and different from each other, and the boss at the end is looking great and very surprised me, when I smashed into him at full speed XD

This is by far one of the most polished games I've seen. I absolutely love the artstyle and the boss design is amazing! I also really liked the shop addition I think it makes killing enemies very rewarding. I'm just not to sure how to kill the boss. I've been shooting it like crazy and neither my bullets nor my missiles seem to be doing anything against it. After 3 tries I just gave up, which is a shame cuz I really wanna see the ending. But incredible job nonetheless!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, the boss maybe is a little over-tuned on the health. Thanks for the feedback and playing/rating!

Nice game, fun gameplay. The shop is a fun addition makes me wanna kill more enemies.

So polished game! Great pixel art and smooth as butter gameplay. I got surprised and murdered by those damn giant worms things over, and over again :D

Developer

Thank you! I'm really happy (and surprised) with how the sprites turned out. I would have liked to add a bit more animation though.

Nice submissions ;) good, coherent entirety. Gotta like the overall feel of the game, a little bit reminiscent of Downwell
