Pretty nice looking game, and the base concept is pretty cool, I am also a big fun of retro/synthwave vibes!
But unfortunately it does have some rough edges like the way you cant fastforward/skip the starting dialogs and they are forced upon you, and how theres no reset, because I once got stuck in a building hahh

Thank you! Actually, now that ratings are all wrapped up, I'm about to push a little patch that addresses that and a couple other annoying little things. Glad you stopped by, love your avatar logo by the way.

I played your game on the first day of the jam. Unfortunately, my game got accidentally deleted along with the comments and the rating I gave you. The controls were simply superb!

Developer

Thank you! I'm sneaking in one more rating for you right now.

I really enjoyied your game, it is really fun (and i'm a huge fan of Retrowave/vaporwave)!!! The controls are nice and the concept of "sci-fi" pizza delivery is damn cool!
Good Job!!
Also if you want i would really appreciate if you would play and rate my game too

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, it occured to me that there are very few games utilizing the rich and developed visual style of "Retrowave/Vaporware" so I thought I'd take a crack at it myself. Somehow pizza just seemed to fit too.

I played and rated your Soulslike game a few days ago, quite enjoyed it too. :)

Thanks a lot to have playied my game i really appreciate it.
Also yeah retrowave is underrated, i thought to do something with that theme too but my idea was not something i could pull of in the jam-time sadly.
Good job again anyway the game really is fun!

Honestly I didn't really understand what I needed to do or how the theme is present here, but the game is visually appealing and the music is very cool!

Developer(+1)

Hey there, the theme is present in that you're driving on the ground in a world that's moved on to flying cars and vertical cities. The dimension you lack is the 3rd dimension, in this case, up. The reason is because you are not of the upper class, I'm also playing with a social element thematically because you're trying to work your way "up" in the world, but you lack upward mobility, literally and figuratively. So, there's two dimensions to my Life in Two Dimensions take.

As for the game loop, I'm sorry it didn't click for you. I don't know where I lost you, so I'll just give you a quick overlook of the whole game loop. First, you leave the construction yard starting area. I bet you can figure out how to do that. Then you drive through a "Pizza Gate", you should see them, they're near the middle of the map, they are purple and have spinning metallic pizzas on top. You'll be assigned a destination to deliver your pizza, you can see it as a blue icon on your minimap in the lower right corner. Your car is the red icon so you can orient. You might also be able to make out a blue beam of light in the sky that rises above your target destination (it could be blocked by a building, but is usually visible). Drive to your destination which is represented by a big glowing blue box, get cash, repeat.

It might take a couple attempts to start making successful deliveries, don't be discouraged. Some destinations are quite tough, others are utterly simple. You may have just had bad luck.

That's the game! I hope that if you give it another shot, the gameplay clicks for you. Happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

The environment really helps with the atmosphere

I liked it but it was difficult to know what direction to go to since the mini map shows dots rather than arrows, also I was not going to try to jump out of the starting area, I though that was the whole game, you should make it more clear that I should jump over it

Developer(+1)

All about the atmosphere. Thanks for your tips!

Cool game! I love the neon 80s vibe. The environment was really nice. Good job on the submission!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice feel and awesome music, even though there is a time limit it feels relaxing

Developer

Thank you. Yes, I was trying to situate the "tension" or "push and pull" of this game between these two aspects. Well observed.

WOW, thats awesome! I almost didn't notice the entire game outside the initial box, but when i did, i was stunned by the beauty of this game. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I wanted to have like, a "Reveal" moment, where the scope of the (still small) game becomes clear. Glad to hear it worked for you. Thanks.
