I like the visuals, but I don't think they follow very well a N64 style. A bit of restrinctions on, for example, how many faces the models could have, could help to make a more accurate style.

Also, I read in the page that the constraint is applied by combining racing and platforming, but I don't see any racing elements besides controlling a car. I think a time limit or any kind of motivation to complete the level quickly would fix that.

But overall, it's a nice and simple game with hidden potential.

I think this would make a great mobile game! Not necessarily full on n64 style, but low poly for sure. The music was fun too. You should definitely be proud of the outcome!

thank you! its made with unity, so i can when i change the input control export it to android

Cute little game. If you put some more effort into it to develop the mechanics further it could be a really fun mobile game. The music made me feel like I was in a movie, lol.

thank you for playing! ok, the controls could be better. the music is by an artist from opengameart.org

Cool concept and music. I would have liked to see the racing and jumping mechanics more developed and tied together. For example, if it was an actual race, and jumping on your opponents helped you get ahead. Right now (correct me if I’m wrong) it looks like jumping on cars only increases your score.

I disagree with the reviewer who said the graphics are not detailed enough for the N64. I think they’re too detailed. The display resolution and texture resolution on this game were much higher than what the N64 could support, the background models looked very high-poly, and I think there were even real time shadows.

One thing I found frustrating while playing the game was the way jumping moves the camera so far up that you can no longer see where you’re going to land. That seems like it would be easy to fix and would make the jumping mechanic feel more enjoyable.

Developer

thank you for playing! ok, the camera should not be so close. maybe i had to build in a real race, not only jump n run.....the shader isnt n64, yes. for another n64 jam i turned it off, i forgot it in this game.

I may have run into a bug, I couldn't seem to drive up/down but I could move back and forth. Jumping felt pretty float-y. The background is cool but a bit detailed/crisp for N64 (not that I can talk based on my entry's graphics :P).

Developer

up you can only jump. ok, the jumping would be better with sinus. i wonder about the graphics, yesterday told somebody, that the graphics are not detailed enough for n64

Pretty short game, but interesting. The jump is pretty high, so it's hard to figure out where you're going to land. I feel like you should lower the jump height and increase gravity. I feel like with some more work, you could definitely make a pretty interesting game, though!

Developer

thank you for your mail! Maybe the jumping is too high, ok. This problem I have often. Maybe the gravity should be greater

It's a simple game but it doesn't really give me n64 vibes.

Good try tho.

Developer

what should i had to better? The graphics are like n64

Submitted

I'm not too sure how to explain this but n64 graphics have more detail, this is a bit too simple

Also having more than one level with more platforming elements could have helped

The visuals are good, but I'm afraid there's not much "game" there.  Very floaty jumping and slow car speeds prevent this from being more enjoyable to play and there's not much challenge to landing on other cars. Sweet tunes tho.
