Excellent pixel art animations and particle effects! Movement is smooth and mouse/keyboard combination works well. Some things to consider: the explosions could potentially get overwhelming, which might be an issue for anyone with photosensitive epilepsy. At the same time, from a general pace perspective, it might be a good idea to add quiet moments to the game to contrast the action.

Great visuals, awesome sound track and interesting gameplay! Played through and beat the boss. I've seen a lot of great games in the jam and this one is pretty high up there in terms of quality. One thing I noticed was that you could continue shooting after the end screen appears and I would have liked a bigger indication that the boss was defeated, as I didn't notice right away. Great job, though!

Thanks a lot! Good idea.

I like the idea of killer's weapon inheritance. The music kicks too! Nice game. And is it an amogus player model, lol?

Nice style, I enjoyed playing the game.

Nice use of color, really juicy animations and overall good movement. I somehow managed to get stuck in the wall when reviving during the boss fight.

Thanks so much, I'm glad you noticed my colour choice! The ghost movement was a finnicky, I would've liked to refine it but time was not on my side.

This was a fun game! I liked the juiciness, felt really nice running around and shooting the monsters, and having a boss fight was awesome! :)

I found a bug also after you win, then the game is still playing in the background so I won and I lost! x)
Well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Sorry about that bug, I guess it would be congratulations and better luck next time at the same time? :)

Is it possible to kill the endboss? because it doesnt feel like it is lol, too many other enemies spawning, with too much health to get through

Developer (1 edit)

Sorry about the difficulty, the boss randomly chooses from 3 phases from bouncing to another position, staying put and shooting and finally spawning in 3 enemies, So RNG was annoyingly important...

Super funny shooting game I like the camera shake effect, well done!

I enjoyed the gameplay! It was a bit confusing what the weapon's ability was but apart from that I liked it! Good job!

Lovely feeling roguelike with this one! Movement was smooth and shooting was very satisfying. Art style is also really well made. A couple of suggestions from me would be I thought the coins could have come to be faster, I would have loved to be able to dash over gaps in the floor, and sometimes my bullets would get blocked by the upper wall when shooting?

Aside from that, great job on this game, especially for a 4 day job!

Nice game and a neat concept! When the player gains enemy abilities it would be nice if the cooldowns were shorter. It makes sense for enemies to have long breaks between their attacks so you can move around them, but when you are spending longer doing nothing than you are shooting it feels a bit bad!

thats a nice game. screenshake would be nice and the music is ver loud. I like the art style and the enemies, but not the bullets who follow you lol. You did a great job! Please rate mine too:]

This game is a delightful experience, featuring lovely sound and art, as well as a diverse range of enemies. It’s an impressive feat for a game jam submission.

To further elevate the gameplay, it would be fantastic to incorporate a system in which each enemy had unique weaknesses to specific weapons. This would add an exciting layer of strategy to the gameplay, with dying offering an advantage in future battles. In the final boss fight, implementing phases, like in a Zelda boss fight, would be a fun addition. Each phase could require a specific weapon or maybe a set of weapons.

With this approach, balancing the game would be crucial. It might be necessary to reduce the time limit or the penalty for death to make the final boss fight more manageable. One idea would be to provide unlimited lives but implement a combo meter, where allowing it to drop to zero would result in a “game over.” Alternatively, players could have a limited number of lives, but the game could offer a way to gain additional lives throughout the experience.

These changes would add more depth and complexity to an already delightful game, making it an even more enjoyable experience for players.

Thank you! I like a lot of the ideas you had, I may update the game after the jam and add a few. :)

Super fun! The boss had so many enemies it took me a few attempts to beat it.

Nicely done! Someone has been clearly working hard!

Love it. One of the more fun to play games, even though it got repetitive pretty soon. The boss level was hard! Keep it up!
