Hi, I’m sorry but according to your AI disclosure, your game does not follow the rules for our jam. Please do not resubmit again.

Games will only be visible after the voting begins, you’re all good!

Games will be rated by other jammers! To vote you have to have submitted a project to the jam.

The rating period will last 3 days after submissions are due, from August 7th to August 10th

That’s twelve more hours to help you get things published smoothly, fix critical bugs, or add more polish! The jam rating period has also been moved to account for this. Use this extra time wisely, and good luck!

You might need to click to focus the game window?

The Discord is the only way to get the shared files right now, but you’ll be able to download and use the bundle on itch.io after the jam is over! I’ll see if I can figure out way for you do donate outside of the Discord, thanks for your interest!

Your challenge is to hide this audio clip, THE TUBULAR BELL OF DEATH, somewhere in your project!

You could hide it as a simple easter egg somewhere, make it play when the player dies, or even incorporate it into a song!

Why??? This sound effect has become a recurring joke in my games, and I want to abuse my role to increase its reach. I stumbled upon it while looking for new sounds to use in my games, found it mildly amusing, and have since included it as an easter egg in every single one of my games. I even had a friend sample it for the soundtrack of Colosseum of Babel!

omg that’s so poetic haha

Who turned out the lights? Blackout could mean a shortage of power, passing out drunk, an ink color palette…

Remember, the theme is completely up to your intepretation. We’re so excited to see the creative ways you use it!

Get to it, B-Jammers! Good luck and have fun!

The Side Quest will be revealed tomorrow. Don’t worry about it for now, just get started on your project first!

Happy to have you!! Can’t wait to see what you make :D image.png

Hi hi!! I’m not much of a youtuber though I really would love to have that kind of thing! I will be streaming and hanging out in the Discord while the jam goes on, be sure to pop to get some live feedback and hang out!! I’d also like to poke some streamer friends and see if they’d be willing to play games on stream!! Depending on the turnout of games I may actually try doing a video :D I’ll be sure to post links of notable streams and videos here and in the Discord as they come up. I hope to get as many people involved as possible!!

Welcome in, can’t wait to see what you make!!

Thanks so much yaaay!!!

So glad you liked it! Enjoy the cheese!! (I completely forgot to disable the button animation when the quit button gets replaced with the cheese button on web haha)

Thank you so much!!! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed it that much, it means a lot!

This was fun! The writing really had us on the edge of our seats, and the boss fight was really engaging with all the different mechanics you used! Can’t wait to see part 2 :D

This was so much fun!!!! The jump mechanic is so cool I’ve never seen something like that before, it’s really interesting! THE FALLING ANIMATION HAD US LAUGHING SO HARD ITS SO CUTE

The varied environments and art were really pretty! It would be nice if level transitions were more obvious, also we couldn’t find the treasure from the hint about the trees…but we had so much fun regardless!! Everything else was really fun to discover!

Very fun! It’d be fun to see all the pieces added, as well as some more varied levels, well done! I like seeing chess pieces implemented as enemies in other games, it’s fun to see their rules applied in different environments.

So pretty!! The art is really captivating but the music got very repetitive, otherwise good job! We got a score of 63 :D

So cute, and the mechanics were really fun!! Had some issues with buttons not being clickable but otherwise really solid!! Be sure to pass on our encouragement to your son he did an amazing job!!!

A fun little game! The movement felt pretty slow compared to how fast the pellets were coming, but otherwise good!! The pushable oxygen was a fun mechanic! The guy watching you was a silly detail 10/10 guy

Thank you so much!! We’re really happy you’ve enjoyed it!! Sorry to hear that the shader effect made you nauseous, we’ll be sure to add an option to disable it next time haha thank you so much!!!

We love fishing!! So cute, had a lot of trouble interacting with things? Couldn’t manage to harvest the carrots after growing them… we couldn’t tell if it was a bug or if we just needed a tutorial… Very cozy though, good work!!

Glad you liked it!! The scan and dialogue UIs were my biggest gripe getting it finished, definitely wish I could’ve implemented them a little more cleanly! Thanks for playing!

This was really fun! It was pretty overwhelming at first, you might feel more progressed if you introduce each structure one at a time, maybe as a reward for beating a tough wave! Overall really nice though!! I like the art, the pixel outline on the planet is cool!!

Pretty fun! The text log was a pretty neat idea and the old english was fun! The skeletons kept jumpscaring us which was funny,, I’d like to see what you do with it in the future!

This is so good!!! The polish really stands out, and such an interesting concept! It was implemented really well, I was surprised to see the shooting stars add yet another element to the puzzles! So fun!!!

Had so much fun playing! Please give our game a try too if you can! https://itch.io/jam/2d-pixel-art-game-jam/rate/4343228

That’s a clever way to follow the theme, it was a lot of fun! A nice, polished, short and sweet game! Wish there were more levels

We’re trying to rate as many games as possible!! Please share your link below and we’ll give it a try!

Please give our game a try too:

Very funny!! The ending was so sillyyy Caitlin best girl

I like the art! Cool concept, I liked the music, but it could be a little easier to distinguish between good and bad outcomes?

The combos are soooo satisfying!!! It’s cool that you got the different modes, and the pixel-y line reflections are really cool!

We’d love to see your reaction to our game!! https://averagebrine.itch.io/ceres

I can’t wait to see what everybody makes!! I’m helping my Bebebebebea make her first game :3

May your particles be many, and your bugs be few…
