So I really love the character design and the environment. The ground tiles seemed to glitch a bit and I could walk through a lot of the trees with no collision. I also couldn't seem to attack without moving which may have been part of the design. But it was a lack of hazard and health that confused me the most.

Great job in such a short time and please keep going with your programming so we can see what you can do later.

An overall nice top-down game entry, I really like the animations you made for the red slime jump !

Here's a few things that could be easily improved:

- The tilemap is kinda glitching sometimes, you would see this kind of clear borders around chunks. Since you work with unity, it would be a good idea to package your tiles within an atlas to avoid this visual glitch.

- With how fast the player moves, I wish the camera was a bit quicker to catch on, or that the camera were to look ahead of the player rather than following it.

- The main improvement to go for would definitely be on the combat system. I had to spam my inputs for my character to slash, as sometimes the input would just not work ? And it's also somewhat tricky to understand when we do hit the slimes.

Sweet game, It kind of reminds me of playing trials of mana. I really like the level design and how you used the different colors for the different zones. I like how you approached the storytelling too. 

I did notice the red slimes were a little hard to hit, and some of the bushes are on the wrong layer order. Also have you used Sprite Atlas before? it may help with some of the visual tearing.

Nice work for a solo project done in a week. Would love to play a future build of this game!

Ive played the game and managed to unlock the green part of the map. But i guess it ends there since nothing happens afterwards. I understand there's a lot of bugs in the game and this is your first solo game jam. Not to mention that you did almost all of the artwork too. That's pretty amazing.

One feedback i have for the game, you might wanna add some indicator or a counter so the player would know how many slimes left for them to kill. 

As a solo dev myself, my advice would be try to scale down the scope of your game so you have the time to complete and test it. You already have a wonderful art skill, combine it with a small game you will get a very satisfying outcome. Hope to see more of your solo dev work in the future. All the best and keep it up!

First of all, thank you for playing the game and for taking the time to write me such a constructive comment despite the bugs.  I would like to thank you for the many tips you gave me which will be useful later on. 

You're right: this jam proved to me that I wanted to do things "too big" when all you have to do is focus on smaller things to do better :) 

It's true that the indicator would have been a good idea, I had thought about it but forgot :(

I will follow your advice, your experience will help me become better!

Yeah we all have been there once. Having a big idea and half way through reality hit us.

One last thing I would like to share is how i usually gauge the total duration it will take to get a game up from an idea.
I would first leave the last day of submission to be the polishing, double checking any remaining bugs and prepping the build/admin stuffs for the submission. On this day i should not be adding new stuffs anymore. That's one day less from the total duration of the jam.

Then on the first day itself is for brainstorming, locking the game mechanics and making a prototype to get the gist of the game. If it ends up being meh i can still change it within that day itself.

Next, i would roughly gauge how long it will take to get the assets up.

Then the remaining days would be code and playtest. Don't forget to add some rest in between too which is actually really important which most devs tend to ignore. If the total days add up is beyond the game jam duration i guess u know where to scope to down from there. If im in the middle of the jam i would just drop one or two mechanics/features. Else i would generate a new idea that can fit into a small game.

Nice game, i like the artwork the pixel art is nice. there were some collider issues with the trees, i was able to go through some of them into the different areas. also the slimes were very hard to hit.  but the animations were great good job.

Hi there! The look and feel are great! Definitely gave me some zelda vibes. I had some trouble with hitting the slimes, I had to time it just right as I was running past them. I liked the change in color pallet between the red, yellow, and green. 

PS, there is a secret tunnel between yellow and green to get to green before you are supposed to be able to.

Hi there again! I love your music, and the pixel art is adorable. I am playing using my keyboard, and I haven't found any of the controls other than movement so far. I have it open still, so let me know how i can start *slaughtering* the red slimes and I'll be right on it! :D

The composition in your game seems to be all there. The map is really open, interesting, and well thought out. I really like to have a distinct feeling in each new world/area in a game to tell me I’m in a new level or situation, and the way you designed the graphics really satisfies that part of me. Well done!
