Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all art, music, programming, and most sound effects from scratch.

Amazing art style! Loved the shop, just might recommend making the mana recharge increment by a larger amount.

The best thing for me is the music, reminds me oh HOMM 3 :) The intro is really well done and I like the Gandalf backstory. At first I didn't even know there is a shop, but even after I found it I miss some actual 'point' of the game. Great job though!

Developer

I appreciate the feedback! I'm hoping to add a story mode that should provide the missing direction :)

Submitted

Is it just me or does the monster look cuter than the sheep? :P

Oh yeah I got stuck at these two places and couldn't get out, had to restart the game.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback!

The cutscene was so good! Unfortunately because of the giant sheep hitbox I shoved them all into the forest immediately. Really good game.

Developer

Hahaha oh noooooo, and thanks for playing!

That was an amazing cut-scene the voice work and animation are gold! The gameplay is fun but I ended up shooing my ewes off the screen more often then into the pen. I know the enemies can come off the screen but something prevent the ewes from running off would be nice. Nevertheless, great work! Keep it up!

Developer

Great feedback, and thanks for playing!

Okay, first I need to know: DID YOU VOICED THE SHEEPS??? If that's the case, nice.

Really enjoyed your cinematic introduction here. Now we know what Gandalf was doing all this time ^^

The game was on point and satisfying, with more and more challenges to tackle each level. Really liked the idea of kill/attract magic.
I would have liked the attraction to be a little stronger though (sometimes, the sheep is blocked on the right of the screen, and I would have liked to be able to pull it in a single blow).

Developer

Hahaha yes I voiced the sheep, the bad guys, and the narration at the beginning. In the version I release once voting ends there is an upgrade in the market for the strength of attraction so thank you for suggesting that!

I didnt knew where to take the sheep until I passed through comments then I nailed it, I like the atmospheric enviroment, I like the game story and the graphic they are really nice :)

would you play my game and rate it according

great game. keep it up♥

Developer

Loved the intro that was a neat touch. Gameplay is fun but I find it hard because I accidentally corner a sheep and the sheep doesn't want to come back with the spell for some reason. Really well done for only a week.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'll definitely be working on a solution to that issue with sheep in the corner so thank you for letting me know

Gameplay was fun! Would have liked to see the theme expressed through the gameplay rather than exposition, but the original V/O, art, and music were really impressive.

Let us know what you think about our project: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-9/rate/1933344#post-7359569

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There were plans for better use of theme but had to scrap them for time but I definitely agree

i love the cutscene in the beginning, and the rest of the pixel art and animations look beautiful. The gameplay loop is also pretty addicting. My one complaint is the sheep. In my opinion, they look a bit cursed with their long necks, and the constant "bahhh"-ing got really annoying after a while. But other than that, i enjoyed it! :)

Developer(+1)

Hahaha very good point on the sheep, maybe I'll add a setting where you can turn of their bleets. Thanks for checking it out!

Wow, wow, wait, a cutscene? Voice acting? Daaaaamn that's a lot of work!

The gameplay is quite nice, the graphics are really good, the "poof" animation is gorgeous =p. The music is good and fitting ^^.

The upgrades are a very nice mechanic, it's quite addicting ^^. On my first playthrough, I did ~10 levels without dying and thought that was everything the game had to offer... Fortunately, I read the description and continued playing ^^. Maybe the first levels are a bit too easy?

Overall, that was a solid game I enjoyed playing. Congratulations =)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm really glad you enjoyed! Definitely agree about the first few levels, if I continue development I'll keep that in mind :)

I loved the dynamic Intro. That is so cool :)

Developer

Hahaha I love making intros for my games, glad you enjoyed!

as a massive LOTR fan, this game stood out immediately. seems like a pretty chill game. the art seems a bit hard on the eyes, but the gameplay is enjoyable. but the theme maybe could have been implemented more?

Developer

I agree that the theme could still be better infused into the game. Thanks for playing!

Fun game. I played for far too long because I was trying to figure out a way to farm gold really fast. I did end up with max mana regeneration, both of the books, and like 30 hay. It’s pretty relaxing, which is probably why I played so long.

(This is a side note for all gamers out there. It seems like the best strategy to get gold without a lot of work is to buy the polymorph book and single hay, and take one sheep to level 20 or higher. Push the sheep in the top right corner or bottom right corner and put hay in the pin. As the monster runs towards them, shoot them when they get close enough to be attracted to the hay. They will just walk into the goal themselves and you get easy money).

Some small critiques: It would be nice if there was a larger benefit for saving more sheep per level. As far as I could tell, 1 sheep is 1 gold no matter what. But it’s a lot easier to take 1 sheep for 20 levels than it is to take 2 sheep for 10 levels. Some bonus for saving more sheep would be nice.

Overall, nice job. I enjoyed the game quite a bit.

Developer(+1)

I totally agree with your critique, and a bonus is a great idea! Thank you so much for playing (and helping out the player who wasn't sure what to do)

Hahah,  the sheep look so cute. And the shark creature's grumbly mumbly voice kept me laughing. Think I got a sheep stuck in the bottom right corner that a left-click couldn't fix, but after restarting the game it was smooth sailing.

Developer

Thank you so much! Good to know about the sheep getting stuck, and I had fun voicing the sheep, baddies, and intro so had my fair share of smiling too

Love the game! Another guy recommended this game to me! I never lost, so I didn't really get the theme, but still an amazing game! Try out my game too bro!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'll def check your game out this week!
