I imagined a swampy little town, with quiet, routine days. But when the fireflies come out at night, so do the tourists. They want that swampy brew.

thank you everyone for the feedback. I will honestly take everything into consideration, and I kinda knew certain decisions would come up short. That being said, it was fun and y'all are absolute beasts

This does not feel to me like a firefly town, but rather like some warmup to an epic final battle in Undertale or something! This feels epic to me somehow - not intended, but very cool nonetheless! Sick chords!
And I do feel the calmth you intended. I think it is a very cool song.

A bit sad for the lack of download link, but do not worry, a simple soundcloud-to-mp3-converter did the trick ;)

A swamp is the perfect place to find fireflies, and I love that take on the theme! Just as you describe, when you reach the B section at about 1 minute, the fireflies come out in the high register twinkling echoey sounds. The use of dorian harmony makes me imagine a renaissance-y type town, but the modulation at the 1:38 mark gives a more modern touch to it adds a different character to the town that makes me think more of neon lights - perhaps powered by fireflies? Overall great work and thank you for sharing!

Great job, the mellow day time part transitioned nicely into the night part and the composition over all is well done. I had an easy time imagining both night and day versions of this town.

Love that bass line entering at 1:00! 

I didn't feel being in a firefly town, however great evolution in the song and really enjoyable tune overall !

Dunno if I want that swampy brew, it looks exactly like the swamp water...

Anyways, very good theme! It doesn't give the bustling night life vibe with so few instruments, but it's very well composed!

Listening to this tune, you can picture a simple, Middle Age style town in a lively night, where people feast, drink, and dance together while watching fireflies embellishing the beautiful natural scenery. It is a well done piece of work!
