Everyone has already written very complimentary things.

I find your compositions very refined. They are clearly video game like. There are little Zelda touches in the arpeggios and some pads.

I love it. I really love it.

Thank you very much :)

Yes Zelda (and Pokemon as Nick Schuitemaker said before) are obvious influences on me ;)

Slipping Out on New: The bass and spacey synth lead give this track such calm sound. I had very pleasant visions of playing a Pikmin-like game with this as the background. This would be an excellent town theme fitting a night atmosphere.

Nocturnal Walk: The allusion to the main motif from the previous track is an excellent touch. This track has Mario Galaxy vibes to it with the space-like pads/keys. On first listen, this track seems simple and would be very calming to listen to in-game, but on repeat listens, there are nuances and intricacies in your harmonic writing that are quite professional compositionally. I think this one is my favorite of the three for this reason!

Elusive Lights: The sparseness of the instruments and the echoey sounds gives this song a cave-like and provides great auditory imagery for what type of environment you are musically describing. This area of the town would be very relaxing to stop at for sure!

Overall these are some very well-crafted compositions that have a lot of skill put into them. Great work and thank you for sharing!

I'm glad you noticed the discreet link between the first and second song. And Pikmin has some amazing music so I appreciate !

I'm also surprised and happy you like Nocturnal Walk the most because everybody tend to prefer Elusive Lights while a few liked Slipping Out on New. I am curious to know what caught your ear, beacause I tend to rely on instinct when it's about harmonic writing so it's kind of blur for me sometimes.

Thanks for this heartwarming feedback, it's always good to know what people felt about your songs and it keeps me motivated !

I don't know that I can put my finger on specifics, but Nocturnal Walk feels like a drifting train of thought that uses a variety of unique chords in its progression that branches out from the main idea in a logical way, but does not feel repetitive at all. I like the chromatic approach chords that you frequently use and how you use voice leading to define how the chords move from one to the next. If you rely on your ear  and instinct, then you have a very well-trained instinct. I actually saved this track in a folder I have named "Jam favorites" - so thank you so much for sharing!

That's good to know, indeed I like to toy with chords and melody to refresh some basic ideas and make a song evolve. With time I guess I got clearer impressions of where I can go with voice leading and this is something I love exploring.

I'm very happy to be in your "Jam favorites" folder ! Meanwhile i keep listening to your Photosynthecity for all the arrangements in the song and the good production/bouncy bass and melody, the fun atmosphere/energy it gives...
Definitely one of my favorite in this jam, if not the one.

Thank you for the attention to details in your answer !

Out of the 3, I liked Elusive Lights the most! It's very charming as a traditional town theme, but the other two themes makes me think the whole town is still asleep and I won't be able to talk to any of the residents. At least the lights are pretty tho

Developer

Thank you! Actually I think I digressed a bit on the first two songs and I somehow managed to keep it simpler/lighter on Elusive Lights. So I'm glad you liked it :)

Maybe the melody is too much in your face on the other two

You are the living proof that the most votes don't always go to the best submissions! For once I am not disappointed by having to listen to 3 songs of each 3+ minutes. Gimme more!

A New:
My God, this is beautiful <3. From the first sound I was captured by the sound. This has one of the best quality from all songs I've rated so far.

Nocturnal Walk:
Really nice! It gives me major "PokemonDPPT - Eterna Forest" vibes with the arpeggio's. Feels really forest-y. I like the change from simple arpeggio's to a sort of cut-off variants which are then used at 0:47 as a consistent chord-bassline on every beat!

Elusive Lights:
What a delightful barrage of sounds! 0:26 is just mystical and pure, something that belongs in the Efteling if you ask me. You have experience in music-making, that's for damn sure!

The only thing I would recommend... which is purely personal preference... is to allow me to directly download .mp3 xD. I personally don't want to download 200MB for a single submission for an unnoticeable increase in quality.

Wow thank you for these words I really appreciate!

And yes I understand you I'm used to bounce .wav format instead of mp3 and this was my first submission ever so.. I'll keep that in mind for next time. Also, I've  put a YouTube link that wasn't there when I submitted, I guess it's easier accès.

Anyway thanks a lot for the feedback it makes me want to do more!

No problem, I would love to hear more :D
And the reason I don't use SoundCloud or YouTube links is because I instantly download songs to my ITunes. Now I can listen to these songs forever!

This is too good
