Very cute little casual game!

I've seen the mechanic here and there throughout the jam. still a very cute mechanic.

I'm a big fan of the fact that there's one optimized route to take, and you're given (prompted!) the chance to beat your record, this gives every level a limited amount of replayability, which is nice. Would be even nicer if we could see what IS the most optimal number of moves, I think I got each level to be most optimal, but I'd like some confirmation! >:(

Otherwise, I think the game could benefit from some non-instant movement from the dice, a little (quick!) animation could go a long way!

As well as some sound effects and music!
But also you've critiqued yourself and I think you understand pretty well where you'd want to take the game and what needs to improve, thats awesome!

Thanks for taking your time and writing this rather elaborate Comment! The main reason why i didn't Display the optimal number of moves is bc i didn't wanna embarrass myself if I'm wrong lols :P For the other things it was just a time problem ^^ When I get fast enough those kind of improvements definitely will find their way into my games :3

little trick in the future:

Use your best attempt as a "3-star" benchmark, that way, if anyone beats it, it's still "3 stars" ;)

That or start at the finish and work backwards, kind of like shuffling a rubix cube, but I don't think that would always work. Depends on the shuffle method.

That dice looks nice! And also good puzzles. I have seen a few games like this one in the jam tho; a dice-themed Bloxorz. But your aesthetics set you apart, with a noir vibe. However, my first instinct was to match the dice face to the number on the floor. Having the number look down, but it was the other way around, and that's ok! I would just let player know.

Yeah there are some player guidance left out that would help the experience. They're not in there bc there was no time left^^ Thanks for playing!

Loved your take on the theme! great job!!

Loved the minimalist aesthetic! I agree with everyone who said they liked level 5. Very solid puzzle game!

Cool game, I like the puzzles!

There's something exciting in seeing someone else implement a similar idea that you had in a different way. The fact that you are a solo developer and managed to make 5, code, and do art assets it's quite amazing.

Developer

Haha thank you! Definitely will check out ur submission then^^ Tbf besides the dice itself there aint many assets in this game but im quite proud on the pace i had in development!

I really wish I could have just hit spacebar or something to go to the next level. Puzzle 5 was good.

Developer

Fair point, there are a few short cuts i could or should have added. For example a restart button Oo

"Slay"

Amazing UI, Well thought out puzzles, takes a simple mechanic and rolls with it. (Pun intended).
Great job.

Pretty fun! Of course, animations to show the rolling would be helpful, but had a good time figuring out the puzzles!

I've seen many submissions having a really similar if not identical concept. It is overall fun however I'm having a hard time on visualizing the other dice faces without any signs and feedback.

Developer

Yeah thats true its quite a wide spread idea. To the visualizing, it might helps to know eg that opposit sides of a dice always add up to 7.

Nice game.

It was a surprise for me to play this game because my game for this game jam was similar to yours.

Try mine too and give your comments.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah this mechanic seemes to be used very often but I think thats alright^^
