That's what we need, a game about micromanagment, hah))
Good one! Played it for a while, found 3 new jobs

Definitely a lot of random stuff is happening, which fits the theme so why not. :)

The enemies are supposed to have (mostly) predictable distributions, but even that doesn't quite work right in the version that's available.

Thanks for playing!

That was fun ! It lacks a 'press any key to start' button, as I almost thought the game was glitched and I couldn't launch ahah! The Pokemon reference is mastered, design is great and audio too!

My only 'minus' is that as everything was random (I didn't feel like enemies had patterns ?) you could end up losing or just spamming the same bbutton to win ! But overall great game!!

Sure, I'll have to add a flashing "PRESS ANY BUTTON TO START" to the title screen. I'll submit a slightly modified, much improved version after the jam.

The enemies do have probability distributions, which, if you learn them, you can beat them consistently. (also a little off, to be fixed post-jam, but they still work) Maybe that's not communicated clearly, a common theme here.

Thank you!

How can I get this to work? The initial screen is all I see.

Edit: The game worked today. I'm not sure what the difference was but I got to play a bit. Interesting concept but really confusing. There seems to be an inner working to each interaction and I guess the point is to try to learn how each opponent behaves, but that isn't made clear anywhere and feel more unfair than challenging. Personally, I wouldn't brag about finishing in "way less than 48 hours", but that's just me.

Press any key on the keyboard or any button on a controller.

I tried pressing all of the keys on my keyboard but none of them worked.

Well that is strange. Maybe focus wasn't on the game, so it wasn't registering?

You could try clicking on the game screen first, then pressing an key.

Developer

That wasn't a brag but a complaint; the jam started while 2/3 of the team was still at work on Friday. I would have loved to explain the probability distributions thing better, but we barely got the thing running in the time we had.

Thanks for your feedback. I know there are gaping flaws and I can't do much about it now, but I'll prioritize these problems in the future.

That makes more sense. I think the game has potential but just isn't quite finished.

This is a fun concept!!!
