Graphically this game looks really slick already. Apart from that it's far too early in its development stage to see where it really might be going...

Developer

Thank you. I will be working on it some more soon in sha' Allah :)

I stole everything from the murderers and gave it to the innocent and trees. Long live the trees.

I'd like to see this game idea taken a bit further!

Developer

Thank you for your encouragement. I really appreciate it :)

Long live the trees :D

It's about time money grew on trees.

A good start and very cool concept - I'm sure you have plans for ingame time to progress which would make the player's actions affect the world, and I bet the innocent can become murderers, so giving them full everything would come back to bite the player, and the innocent they murder? :o

Hope you keep developing this! :)

"It's about time money grew on trees." Obviously :D

I did have plans about the world changing how it looks over time but never got to do that. Like the trees and earth becoming barren depending on the number of murderers. I didn't really think of making the murderers and innocent not a permanent thing but rather depending on the circumstances or whatever but I think it is a good idea to ponder. I thought also about making the increase and decrease of abundance have an effect on the people for example when a murderer has more money they would do more evil things.

I feel the idea has a lot of potential expansions that I hope to get to one day. Right now I'm focusing on making a reasonable ending so I don't leave it like that :)

Thanks for your kind words and for sharing your ideas :)

It is a neat idea playing from a grim reaper viewpoint. I am sure you have lots ideas how the game will develop, just not enough time to complete in ten days.

Developer (1 edit)

I actually had only two days to work on the game so I didn't have much time even to organize my time. But yes I have hopes for this game :)

By the way, it's not really a grim reaper perspective but I am going to explain more as I go on developping more chapters.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, I really appreciate it :)

Developer

By the way, I would love to play your game but I have a Linux OS. If you exported a Linux or webGL build, let me know to try it out :)

I loved the voice over intro, although it didn't always sync up with the on-screen text. Thank you for sharing some of your culture with us. I wasn't aware of that version of the story.
The game itself wasn't too clear, the aesthetics were beautiful but after filling all the innocent up and even giving trees money, nothing seemed to happen.

There also seemed to be more than enough murderers to fill up the innocent without having to make any decisions. I didn't see what the XP was for?

Developer(+1)

I'm sorry about all the things that don't make sense. I started making the game the last two days of the jam and it simply wasn't enough and I had to build it without an ending. I wrote more about the intended idea and ending on the game page if you would like to know more.

The XP was supposed to be used for leveling for more abundance capacity and more siphon and fill power and other powers.

I am happy that at least the voice over wasn't too bad and glad the version of the story was interesting to you :)

And sorry you had to give money to trees :)

Hello, tried your game out. It's a fun little concept. The intro felt a tad bit too long. Also it took me a while to understand what I'm supposed to do as I went head on in it. It could use some sort of tutorial in game. Altho once I went to each location and messed around I figured out what to do. But wasn't really sure on how to complete the entire game.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks a lot for your feedback.  And I will surely add more tips and maybe a tutorial in the next version. Unfortunately, the game wasn't complete (because I started 8 days late) and that is why nothing happened after you did everything right. Apologies for that :)

For more insight into the game idea and how it was supposed to end, I wrote more on the game page.

Thanks again for playing my game :)

(Thanks for putting up a windows version for this!)

Things I liked:

-Super cool intro with a voice-over! Cool story! I assume there is some biblical allusions here in the story as well as a star wars style scrolling through the text- that was cool

-Visually, this game looks amazing!

-It's daunting not knowing how your actions will effect the game so I had to carefully consider many things- a really intriguing concept!

Things to improve:

-Intro felt long and the voice over was not clear in many places. Voice modifier was fine, but making sure audio is clear and crisp and revising the intro into a concise version would greatly enhance immersion (make it max 1-2 minutes) (Note: I don't want to skip it, but I am glad you included the button just in case!)

-You stated you didn't have time to finish, but giving player feedback or at least an end state for when the player has done so many things they get feedback based on your vision (Are they doing the right thing, wrong thing, are they not giving enough time or too much time? etc)

-Music/SFX etc would help with the mood/ feel

Overall:

This game has great potential and I am super interested in seeing how player choices will influence the rest of the game. Be sure to let me know about future updates, I would love to play this again!

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback I really appreciate it.

I noticed the intro is too long when I was testing the game myself but it was too late to change anything but I intend to change that in future versions by dividing it into chapters and using them like cinematics between levels. And yes the missing feedback and ending were critical mistakes that unfortunately not my first time falling in as I tend to dream big :)

Thanks for all your kind words :)

I understand dreaming big! It's so hard not to when you have all these super cool ideas flowing into a game design! My advice is to create the critical game flow, essentially a MVP (minimal viable product) where you can play your game at the most basic skeleton of the game. Then add features to improve the game so that if you have to end a lot sooner than you expect to, you still have a product that is playable from start to end.

At the end of the day, you made a fun experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and I hope that my advice is useful and helps you continue to grow!

Thanks a lot appreciate your advice and will try to do that :)

And you can always help others by rating their games!

Developer

Thanks for your comment :) I have just added a windows build.

Would you do the same and make a web or Linux build so I can check out your game. I would love to :)

I tried downloading this game, but I was not able to, could you try updating it and letting me know? I would love to try it out!

In the mean time you can always try out my game! Would love to hear your feedback!

Developer (1 edit)

Would you kindly tell me what was the problem exactly so I can fix it?  I will check out your game now :)
