Quite an impressive game for a 2 day jam. I really dig the artwork. I was a little confused by the gameplay, but I am a bit hopeless at card games. Good job overall!

Really excellent little game! I love the concept and could absolutely see myself playing this outside of the jam rating period just for fun. I'm definitely looking forward to the updated version mentioned in the replies to another comment!

One feature suggestion: It would be nice to be able to see what cards you have left in your deck.

Thanks for your encouraging feedback. Improved & more balanced version is coming soon, promised!

Look what I have posted in our Discord channel just before I read your comment - this is such a nice coincidence ;-)

Fun concept!
The art was great as well

The watering sound effect was a bit too loud and too long, it became a bit too much when hearing it repeatably.
It was good that you had a tutorial in the description, you should maybe have a text in the game that the player should first read the description (or even better have a tutorial, but I know that is difficult to manage to do with the tight time-schedule)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback :-)

Yeah, at the end there was not enough time for including the in-game tutorial, unfortunately.

eHoodie already improves a   copy  of the game - as soon as the rating period is over, we will flip the switch. This version has the in-game tutorial and I have also the "shorten the water sound FX" on my list ;-) We also completed the UI (it came out pretty nicely), fixed bugs and added a ton of improvements.

The praise for the unique concept is well-deserved. Really, really good job! The art is outstandingly lovely. The music is a bit repetitive, but not annoying and fits the game's overall playing speed really well.

I really like the gameplay and concept, the art is amazing, the flow is great, and the sound effects are on point. Some of the UI was a little small and hard to see, but overall this was a fun experience!

Very unique concept and great execution!

Unfortunately without a tutorial, but not too difficult to learn. It was very fun yet strategic to figure out the best solutions for problems that you yourself create. The music was very calming. I did find one bug (Details in my other post) and also lost to RNG in the second level (Started with three water buckets). Wasn't annoying though because you can easily restart each level, which fits the tone very well. The art is super clean and cutely drawn, although the background gives it a bit more of a darker tone which I'm not quite sure fits the game well.

But overall, great game. Well done.

(Though I don't buy that the duck is a chicken and it seems neither did Zaetu. Disappointing)

Hey Agent Jo, thank you for taking so much time giving us your detailed feedback - highly appreciated!

oHoodie  does a great job and is taking care of all the bugs. Right now we have a second "shadow version" of Cardening where all the bugs you mentioned got already fixed. The in-game tutorial is also ready there, as well as many other improvements.

Wasn't sure about the background either, but with my latest UI designs, everything is coming really well together. Can't wait to see this new version officially published - it got so much better!

PS: You made my day with mentioning the 3-buckets-problem - I was constantly running into it and was probably wrecking Hoodies nerves by complaining about that so many times ;-)

Amazing strategy game/card game can you try my game?

Submitted(+2)

A bit confused at first - then I read the instructions and kept playing for too long!
Cute, clever and well made!

If you continue on this it would probably deserve an economy / balancing pass (you can easily have one card stacking up to 8 coins :D).

Last but not least: I'm deeply impress by the number of cards specially thinking about the process behind!

Thank you for playing and for the great feedback!
A more balanced and overall improved version will be published after the voting ends ;)

Original and fun. Loved the art of the cards. Well done !

Great game. The first time I immediately lost at the first level so I went back to read the tutorial again and then everything was much clearer to me. I really have no complaints. The hand-drawn graphics are beautiful. The music is unobtrusive and creates a chill-out atmosphere. Gameplay is addictive. It wouldn’t be bad to add things written by DuffusWaffleButt. I am glad that you continue to develop.

Well made! Great design and th card art is lovely. I would have liked some basic UI/UX elements like retry and what goal im aiming for (how many coins to win a level).

But solid construction, well done.

Thank you :-) Your feedback is welcome - we already started a list of improvements - will add your points to it.

I love the design of this card game. It has some potential for a fun tabletop game. I also like the artwork of each card. Great job!

The game seems fun and really pretty but I didn't manage to play a complete level (I only had 5 cards) :/

Developer

hey, thanks for playing^^
We had a tutorial planned but unfortunately didn't get to it.
You always start with only 5 cards, but if you don't waste your water buckets on empty tiles you should get past the first level :)
Then you can buy more cards for your deck!
