awesome game! A very creative concept in which gives the player freedom which way to maneuver the snake and not get stuck, it gives a good learning curve for the player.  The gameplay is fun in a way that there is no pressure since the player is moved per button press, and return to start when the player gets stuck, making it a relaxing puzzle game. Overall I enjoyed playing! congratulations! keep it up!

I'm so glad you liked it, thank you!

This is superbly done. The twist on the classic is simple: create an exit trigger (the pressure plate) that can be used to advance from one level to the next, and then design levels with terrain features that need to be taken into consideration. The concept is simple, but it opens up a lot of design space, and the creator takes excellent advantage of it by creating really interesting levels. It almost feels like this is what Snake was supposed to have been all along.

Other than the missing sound, the presentation is flawless.

Overall the game is brain-burning, but a pleasure to play. Bravo.

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty interesting variation about snake. Some more sounds or maybe music would be nice.

Developer

Yeah, I really want to add sfx and music if and when I upgrade it.

Interesting snake variation! i found it quiet difficult when i got to the level with the "x"

would be much better with sound!

Let's go, I did it!

The art was very clean and intuitive.

One pet peeve of mine was that the controls felt kind of clunky and I realized that maybe it was because if I'm holding down ⬅/➡, the game doesn't register ⬆/⬇ at all. This makes sense in an open area but, for example, I was holding down ↗ and there was a wall to my right but not above me and the snake was not moving up. I thought that maybe this was a PICO-8 limitation but apparently it isn't.

You're right, I threw together a basic player controller just to get it working and then didn't have time to improve it. If I do an update that'll be the first priority.

It's a snake game, and the art looks nice. I can't seem to get past Level 4, but it's probably because I've haven't found the right answer yet, Props to you for making it in Pico-8 as well!

Developer

Other people have been getting stuck on level 4 too, so I added a hint: you can touch the goal with your tail, not just your head. Thanks for the feedback!

great game, very reminiscent of old nokia games (the snake one)
