How does you game fit the theme?
Use the Focal Spell to reveal illusions + see invisible things placed in the castle and conquer it.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Code: yes.
Assets: about half of them are made by me and my friend, the rest are from the free assets pack Generic Dungeon Pack by Estúdio Vaca Roxa. Music is NOT MINE (I forgot to add this), the song is "Signal To Noise" by Scott Buckley

nice rick roll at the end
Really like the focal spell mechanic; it spices up the platforming in a creative way. It gets a little tricky when you have to use it while also avoiding the enemy shots. Wasn't a fan of how using the attack automatically disabled the spell.
Good iteration through the level design. It felt like the mechanics had enough time to be explored and developed.
Fun game, I like that you are only able to use one of them at the same time!
Nice concept and well made game!
I've played a couple of games similar to this, but this one has been the most fun. Found the combat not needed, I wanted to keep using the cool trick, so I never swung the sword. But the actual Mana Focus felt good to use, and the camera always felt the right distance to help me use it properly.
Platformer that fits the theme well. I didn't really enjoy the wall jump, it felt quite unnecessary in your levels (only used it twice I think). I'd design some other levels where you actually have to use it in the future. Music and sounds were fitting, but for me the background music was a bit too loud in comparison with the SFX.
Overall a pretty good game and I think that with some more work it can be a very good platformer!
Thanks for the comment!
Honestly you are the first one who thinks that wall jumping wasn't necessary. You must be pretty good and are experienced with platformers. Most of the people who played my game (me included) don't really have total control when it comes to high jump (holding down jump). We normally forget about that and just do a light tap. That's where the wall jump comes in: a generous secondary jump that can give the player one chance to fix their initial jump.
But there were a few places in my game that required the wall jump - now I'm really curious about how you beat it with only 2 wall jumps...
Live stream maybe? xD
Nice Job. This game was really fun and I loved the mechanic. The second to last room with (8?) turrets was pretty hard, but felt so good when I got through.
Nice game though still not sure if there is double jump in game or just wall jumping.
It was wall jump! Thanks for playing!
Nice game, rated it. pls rate my game also if you don't mind - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1418152
Have you just rick rolled me on game jam? :D
I loved the gameplay, it was entertaining and fun. Maybe some additional mechanics would bring more depth, but it works perfectly as it is. Art is good in delivering the atmosphere. Overall quality is perfect, zero bugs in entire game. Good job!
Thanks for playing, appreciated the comment!
