  • Hey there! Wow, this game is a real treat for the senses. The sound and graphics, animation and presentation overall are very nice, great work there. I also thought the take on the theme was a good one, and I appreciate the direction you took it in. There were some original aspects to the design for how the objects would be placed, giving the player an avatar and forcing them to paint themselves into a corner was something I haven't seen done quite in this way. I really felt, from the get go, that the collisions detracted from the experience quite a bit. I think the nature of the game implies that there's a kind of skill in finding the right way to tesselate all of the items, yet I often found I could just drop the objects at random angles and they seemed to fit, despite what the graphics indicated. The rest of the game was really well-polished, so I feel like this has to be a design choice, but I can't help but think of the missed potential in having more irregular levels with objects that were visually consistent, that required clever planning in order to find the one solution. All this aside, I still had a really good time with the game, easily in the top handful of memorable experiences, and I can't wait to see what you make in future jams. Thanks so much for the game. Adam

Really great how minimalistic approach you were able to pull off here, but not gonna lie, I was expecting something bit more "crazy" as the visuals just made that feel that this is going to be fast paced mayhem. No but really, the game is really good and I love the idea. Some catchy tunes would be a nice touch on the top of that, but usually it is not possible to fit everything in during the jam. Great work!

Clever interpretation, the ability to overlap with the wall make the placements rather interesting, I don't think I'd win an interior decorator award on any of these. Not sure what the last level was all about, I feel like there's a story there haha.

Btw, for embedding into your itch page, you can choose to manually set the resolution of the frame containing the game window, I think that would solve your viewing issues.

Good work!

I think the gameplay tended to make me move towards trying to brute force it until everything fit in, rather than a puzzle I could think about haha. This is probably because it's not clear what the colliders are for each of the objects, so you only really know if something is going to fit by just trying it until you get there if that makes sense. It makes it quite hard for me to visualise the puzzle and think of a solution, which is something I think I'd personally prefer.

For me I'd like to see it go down a path of perhaps objects are confined to a grid and can only be rotated 90 degrees so everything snaps. Then in order to spice it up and add some variety to the puzzles perhaps have different objects on different levels, maybe having oddly shaped objects or even some "rules" between certain objects, such as a lamp must always be touching a bed, or a fish tank isn't allowed to be too close to a computer etc for it to be a valid placement. Then it starts to get into a puzzle you can visualise and think about rather than just going ham at it until it all fits haha :P

Also an undo feature is always nice in these types of games so you don't have to restart the entire level if you mess something up.

The visuals were my favourite part and I also quite like the flow of the game with the menus and level restart transitions. Nice job!

Love the big-pixel visuals, simple but very readable.

Sleek presentation and menus, too. The controls are simple, effective and work quite well.

I got stumped at level 6, it got super cramped and couldn’t get through it, but the difficulty curve was good. I had no issue with level 5 however and was able to complete it.

Love the idea of the game, not too dissimilar to ours!

Game breaking bug in level 5, the room to the right is inaccessible which means you cannot complete the level.
The game felt a little disjointed from the theme, I could see the inspiration but didn't feel like it really connected.
The game was fun however. Nice sound effects.

So, 10 rooms is more than one. Also level 6 was a goddamn nightmare. Otherwise, had fun!

Fun game! Idea is nice. I thought it was weird that I could place furniture into the walls and make it overlap. And in level 5 I couldn't get in the small place to the right. but overall it played wuite smooth and I liked the minimalistic graphics!

Nice game. Interesting gameplay ideas. It looks "messy" sometimes because the items are rotated randomly. or overlapping. But it was interesting to play. The art style is very nice. Good job!

Very fun! The art does a lot with a little, it felt very smooth, and the idea is just very appealing. Some music would be nice, but that's not a huge deal. Awesome work!
