Very nice visuals and a daring entry for a game jam! The game bugged out on me in many ways, but if this is really made within a week then that's impressive ;) Rated!

Reminds me of First Samurai, very nicely presented, and vikings are quite cool in their own right :)
But I always died when battling about the 2nd enemy. There must be some tricks to fighting them, though constant swinging, hacking didn't save me... :(

Exceptional platformer with great pixel art, great sound, and challenging gameplay. Nice job!!!

Ah, I remember the first time I joined a jam I tried making a side-scroller as well. It did not go very well so I can totally respect the effort put in here.

The graphics are beautiful, very nice work!!! The combat is pretty fun too. The zoom in/zoom out effect is really cool, but a bit too intense for me. Might be good to have an option to adjust the intensity of it (or maybe you already do and I missed it).  I also thought the glowing surfaces of the environment made the setting really beautiful. The main menu art is pretty rad too!! Nice Jam, you guys did great!

It looks nice, but for my taste, the places are too bright (blown out). Controlling the character is not very convenient, sharp. Overall a good job, but there is still work to do.

Good luck in development =)

Thanks for the comment.

Yeah we do have a lot of work left. We built everything for this jam from scratch within the time-frame so it is pretty rough around the edges and needs a lot of polish. We didn't even have our core game loop done until Sunday night... woops. And we cut a lot of features we want to have in the game to get it done in time. Excited to strip this down and build it back up with more systems, better code, better art, better mechanics, better levels, better progression etc.

Some design flaws like inconsistency with pixel sizes of different elements, like backgrounds and text. But otherwise cool! :)

Wow, this is super impressive! The art looks amazing, and the music is great too! The movement feels a bit slippery/floaty, but that's a minor complaint and more of a personal preference - wish there was more weight to the character. Great work!

Wow!

This is really impressive for the time allotted... love how smooth the movement is, props on the physics! You've got an impressive leveling system, wicked attacks, good variety of enemies, music is great, and visuals are great!

A tip of the hat to the creators!
