Nice game!

For the gameplay it'd be more interested if there was some drawback for the shooting, I could basically just hold the click button and I'd shooting everywhere. Besides that, the game is quite adictive :D

Congratulations on the game!

Great audio! Gameplay is good and very simple, I like it! I like it! :)

Thanks for liking my game.

Great second entry! It gets a little repetitive, but it sounds like you are adding things for the post-jam version. Mind rating my game? It's my first!

Developer

Thanks for liking my game. I will get to your game ASAP.

Really cool game! Shooting down all the enemy's is so fun! Great entry!

Super cool concept! The art is amazing, and it feels super great to kill the aliens!

If you don't mind, I would appreciate if you checked out my game :)

Thanks, glad you liked it. Im gonna play your game ASAP.

Cool game - although I agree with others it was a little confusing at the start. Once I understood it I thought the strategy would be just to hold down the fire button - but there was a cool down after a while. It might have been helpful to show that though, cause sometimes I was confused as to why I couldn't shoot.

Visually, everything looks really cohesive. The art is simple yet great, the screenshake is a nice touch but not too much, same for the particle effects. Sound gets a little repetitive, but I find it rare when it doesn't in a jam game. Great effort for a first game!

Developer

There was no cooldown. But I made a function where you couldn't shoot when the mouse was hovering over a ui element. Because the sliders was a core mechanic, I didn't want interaction with the sliders to accidentally shoot the gun.

i loved it , reminds me of vilmakrs satelite game was confused on how to play at first tho
Otherwise the experience was great !!

Thanks, I really like your game too. I did think that this was somewhat similar to Vimlark's game, but I was just obsessed with bullet hells.

Loved your game! Making a shield of bullets around the player and having the enemies run into it was really fun.

If you have time, please check out our game.

Developer

Glad you like it! Ill be checking your game out ASAP.

This was probably just a me problem but I was really confused about how to play.  I tried so hard to figure it out because it seems like a really cool game.  Your visuals and audio was really cool and the idea of the game seems super fun.  I just also didn't totally understand how to make the gun shoot which made it a bit hard for me lol

Developer

Sorry about that. I didnt have time to make a tutorial. So you click the left mouse button to shoot.  The sliders on top left of the game allows the player to control the bullet speed and the rotation speed. It would allow the player to make different bullet hell patterns.

Cute! I really like this take on a space shooter style thing!

Thanks for liking this. I have played your game and it was awesome too.

It's fun but here's my feedback:

The first bullets are so slow

The second is you can just hold the LMB forever, I liked the idea of collectibles crashing when they collide with bullets, you can expand on it and you can add a little bit cooldown to gun.

That's really all liked it, btw please check out mine :D

Developer

yeah I've been updating the game to where shooting the hearts will hurt the player. About the bullets. Did you try using the sliders on top left? It's a key mechanic of the game and allows the player to adjust the bullet speed and the rotation speed.  It was so that the player could make different bullet hell patterns to play the game.

Submitted

It's a cool idea I didn't know it. But the weird thing is why would a player shoot at slow speed lmao

Submitted

Overall very fun to play! I was thinking about doing an idea like this, but ended up going with something else. I really like the enemy variants and how you used the idea

Developer

Thanks. This was actually my third game idea and I only had three days to work on it. I do admit that the enemy types needed different abilities other than damage and speed.

Really love your game, your arts, your idea,... a lot of things.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it. I played your game too and it is awesome as well.

cool little game! I like the different enemy types. Once I figured out I could just increase the fire rate and hold down the LMB, it was pretty easy. the mechanic is cool, I just think it needs a bit of polish to make it more fun (power ups or even limitations you could accidentally collect if you don't shoot them would be cool!) Personally, I don't think it fits the theme because LMB can be used to control multiple things on screen (which it does in this case) and in a way takes away from the restriction of the theme. I see where you were coming from using sliders and not buttons, but that's just my personal take on the theme. Overall, good work!

Yeah this was actually the third idea I worked on for this jam. The other two I had scrapped. Those two were both true one button games, but they weren’t that much fun to play. I wanted to be more innovative and creative opposed to just making a one button game. I have updated the game now. Shooting the hearts will cause you to lose health too. I made a variable spawn rate so now  every 20 seconds, the enemies spawn rate increases too. I might add some power ups too like different projectiles or using two guns and etc. The update will be out after the jam ends unfortunately.

I like how I can just shoot and go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Do you mind rating my game it is https://itch.io/jam/boundless-game-jam/rate/1103897

Developer

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I’ll check out your game now and let you know in your comments.

Nice artwork and music but it is a little repetitive as I just hold down to shoot, and there are not other things like extra powerups besides health.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah I've updated the game to where shooting the hearts will result in losing health. That should  prevent the player from just holding down the button. The update will be out after the jam ends.

Nice game. The visuals are great, but strategy is just hold down shoot. Also, you can't turn around or speed up rotation, so you're gonna take many guarenteed hits. Could you rate and play my game too? https://itch.io/jam/boundless-game-jam/rate/1104146

Developer

Yeah I've checked out your game and its awesome. Definitely a high rating from me.

I like the game. Love the visuals. but sadly there's nothing stopping me from just holding down the button. maybe some reloading? Nice work overall

Developer

I thought about it, but it wouldn’t be much of a bullet hell game with a reload system. I may just increase the enemy health. This is my first game jam, and I’ve frequently heard people complain about game jam games being too difficult, that’s why I left it as is. I’ll update it if I’m allowed to do so.

Submitted

I think you'll be able to update the game after the jam closes, keep up the good work
