Description
genre: electric

game: idk tbh / maybe a fast paced action platformer

track represents: final level of section 1

Message from the artist:
My entry for the OST Composing Jam hosted by Lone Rabbit

Given theme: a journey to remember

I started working on this a couple of days into the jam. The theme was pretty vage so i just wrote whatever came to my mind at the time and integrated it into the music.
The ending is a little bit rushed but i guess thats normal for a jam.

My approach ended up being a mix of different ideas in (mostly) 5/4.

Regarding the imaginary game:
While working on this track, i got some cyberpunky vibes. Maybe it would've been something for a fast paced action-platformer?
In the end it's up to the listener to create a setting for the track i think.

Enjoy.

Theme

a journey to remember.

How does it fit the theme?
I integrated the theme into the rhythm of the track.

The whole track is awesome but I think that snare a bit loud

Cool contemporary update to the chiptune vibe!

I really like the rhythm of this one once it kicks in (which sounds huge btw) and the way the stereo mix has some elements that pan between speakers. There's an urgency to the movement which I think would work well in a game setting.

Also those synths sounds tasty!

Very focused on synthesizers, this music has beautiful dynamics, pure bass sounds and a guideline of rising and falling scales that never tires because of the great variety of timbres and effects. Music that would suit for a deep metroidvania in a futuristic universe with a huge lore. Perfect to immerse the player in the atmosphere since the main menu, or in a phase of a little sustained action.

a very nice track.  really like the atmosphere and to be honest, the 'rushed ending' made me curious about what will follow because of the sound going up again.

Sick beats and clean synths. Great production quality. Also love the odd time signature in the first track.
The 2nd track has such a mellow vibe, it’s the kind of track that you could listen to for a long time in a game and not get bored. That deep rising synth is a memorable sound, you should try using it more sparsely as a moment of impact or theme.

Some critiques, the panning movement for the synth doubling the melody can be really jarring. Few things could help: Either lower that sound in the mix or try that panning trick only in specific locations to give the listener something new and unique to grab on to.

Cheers!

It gives a Celeste vibe. One of my favourite games and game soundtracks :) It's really soft, but also encouraging. I like the synth choice! Good job ♥

Love the guitars! Thought they worked really nicely with the rest of the track.
