Super clever game! I had to give up in the tall room with the high up exits. I found I think 3 different exits but I couldn't work out where to go from there. Really slick seemless changing of the environment as you move about.

Oh, and I guess the flat colouring was probably to help with hiding the clever tricks used to change the level around, but it sometimes made it a bit challenging to see where walls and entrances were :)

It's true. I have played around with that mechanic a lot. Theoretically any pattern with 4 way symmetry would work, but I think the actual issue has more to do with lighting than material, and that may be more of a challenge.

Although now that I think about it, maybe not. I actually just need to figure out how far the light travels...

Thanks for your feedback!

Pesky corners, invisible teleporting tripwires and hard to read and cryptic prompting words are always a good way to get lost :).

Did not get what to do at the the infinite turn right corner. Tried to go left and some more, but did not get any progress.

I assume it was heavily inspired by one other game  in which I also got lost...

Which game? Probably Antichamber was the biggest influence on this one's mechanics in particular. My "main" game blends this mechanic with word puzzles and those "epiphany" moments from The Witness, but I wanted to do something a little lighter here. Seems like nobody has finished yet though so maybe I overshot the difficulty. I can confirm there's an exit from the right turn room!

Regardless, thanks for your feedback!

yep antichamber

Very motivational. Liked the grapchics and the quotes. Could use some more quiding though to make it easier to find the correct path .

Thanks, that's definitely a fair criticism. I'm a big fan of open exploration games but the time crunch here, plus the two under two kids I'm parenting at the moment, made this essentially linear, and thus that much less frustration tolerant. I'm not sure whether I'll do another jam, but I really have appreciated the sense of camaraderie with all the other developers. This is the most wholesome the internet has been for me in a long time.

Enjoyed Jansson too, by the way! I'd say you guys are pretty easily among the top 3 in the 3D category.

I loved this! I love mind bending puzzles like this, and all of this is very well done. Fantastic job.

As a side note though, I almost gave up on the game because I must have spent 50 lives jumping from the respawn room out the right side to jump around and onto the tree. I hadnt seen the acorn sign the first time and thought that the objective was to climb the tree from the outside, which the sign at the respawn confirmed in my mind. I am very glad I double checked the acorn before giving up.

Developer

Good point! Probably should have flipped it so the sign was viewable from the green room. Next time!

Thanks for your feedback!

Are you able to share an HTML5 or Mac export? I'm unfortunately unable to play this otherwise!

Developer(+1)

I tried export to Mac, not sure if it'll work or not since I don't have access to a Mac, maybe you could let me know? I uploaded the Pack file too in case it needs it, didn't see the same option to include it with the executable.

From everything I've seen, HTML5 is a bit of a no go for Godot 3D so far.

Nice and innovative game  the concept is so simple yet so fun to play

I got stuck at the "Needing to be right" part. I went left and there was something new, but then I got looped back to the "Needing to be right" sign. Was a pretty trippy experience though. xD

Mind bending!

Thanks!

The game was challenging. I liked the little encouragement sign to the player after falling. I think there could be a slight more friction, but maybe that's part of the challenge. Nice work!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind for future projects.
