Congratulations fellow first-time game-jammer on finishing in time!

The Visuals and Audio were quite good in my opinion and the take on the theme was interesting as well! To me, the movement felt too fast and "all over the place" so couldn't tell whether I was moving onto a platform or falling into a pit.

Well done!

Developer

Glad to see another first timer! I need to improve the whole movement, I tried to do too much there and it messed things up, thank you for the review! Happy jamming!

Thank you for the kind welcome and review! Been lurking around game jams and devlogs for a few months now and decided I might as well give it a try now! Thank you so much for all the advice, I've shown the game to others and the bacground really does seem to blur too much. The camera idea is brilliant! I was having troubles with it and couldn't figure out what to do other than keep it locked to the player, thanks for playing and I hope to see you in future jams too!

I love the take on the theme. I think the movement is a little too fast in general, and the jump is too high. Congrats on your first jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the review! The movement should have been tested much more, I got too focused on adding more content when I should've focused on making the product I had more enjoyable, thanks for playing!

also please play my game and give some feedback

Developer

Thank you for the review! I'm glad you liked the music, I can never gauge how it sounds, the jump mechanic seems to be an overall problem and something I should have tested further to perfect, thank you for playing!

  • Theme: Perfect. the spaces become more limited over the levels.
  • Audio: Kinda okay, but i miss the jump sound.
  • Visuals: Good and simple.
  • Gameplay: It is not in my liking style, but i enjoyed. Very easy game.

Congratulations on the game.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it, definietly agree with you on adding sound effects and I definitely need to do more testing on the gameplay side, thanks for the review!

Hello.

What I like:

- The music. 4th in a row with good music. Nice.

What can improve:

- The jump. There are 2 problems with it. 1- There is no "just in time"/coyote jump. 2- You jump too high, so you cannot see what's below you and that is ( in my opinion ) not good.

Suggestion:

- Make it so that music does not restart when you die. Tutorial here.

- Add SFX for when the player jumps/die.

- Add screenshake.

Note: Since you said this is your first jam, congrats for finishing your game :D

Thank you for the review and the tutorial as well! I was torn on the whole music thing but thank you so much for the advice. I'll be sure to keep this all in mind in following jams or for improving this game after the judging period, thank you for playing

Thank you for the review! My idea on how to use the theme was changed about midway through leading to the odd implementation of it, the initial concept was to make the exit close overtime. The trouble you had with advancement was probably due to my poor camerawork leading to some problems with seeing oncoming jumps, thanks for playing!
