Very nice game, had a lot of fun! Everything that I have a problem with you seem to be aware of because you listed them in your after the jam plans. The biggest things were that the ghosts were hard to see at first but I got used to it. And that it felt very unfair when I almost completed a level just to be catched by a ghost that just spawned in the door. Your fixes: "Allow the player to goto the next level if they hit the exit even if they've been caught by a ghost" & "Add a timer in front of the door to show when the next ghost will spawn" would fix this perfectly. Even if not a timer just a little indicator that would fit in with the game a little better. Yeah and the pillows were sometimes hard to collect.

Apart from that, great game, great sounds, beautiful graphics and overall fantastic entry. I like the double-challange that its a different kind of game on the way back.

Thank you so much for playing! All of those are fixed/improved and are in the new build ready to be uploaded after the jam ends! Glad you liked it! :)

Wow.  This is SO well done.  I rated you top marks on everything.  Stuck with the theme perfectly, sprites were all well done, tasteful (a kid and his pillow right?) I felt perfectly in control of him at all times, it's hard to get just right, but you nailed it.  The edge tiles and little wooden platforms were polished pixel work.  Great crossover transitions, and quick replay-ability of the levels.  The mild stress of the clock, and the difficulty was infuriatingly just right.  Took me 1029 to finish, lol.  GREAT GAME!  Even the credits screen was cool!

Oh my god i don't think i can recover from this... I had a huge smile on my face while reading through the entire thing. Thank you so much for your kind words, really means a lot to me and motivates me to try make more games!!

The art is top notch and the idea is super original. Definitely one of the best games I've played this jam! The levels are well designed and each level is challenging enough where completing them feels rewarding. I have two pieces of feedback, though they're fairly nitpicky. The first one would be to make the color of the background text more visible. As it is right now, the instructions kind of blend in with the background so I didn't notice them at first. The other one would be to add a visible outline to the shadows to make the hitboxes a little clearer. Overall, fantastic job!

Thank you so much for your feedback! The instructions are a little brighter in the new build, but can't update it yet since the jam's not officially over. I'll also look into making the shadows more clearer!

Thank you :) Glad you liked it!

FWIW I thought the fuzzy edge to the shadows made for a spooky effect.  =)

This game was a very enjoyable play! I was playing it live and every victory felt super satisfying! Honestly I really want to go back and speedrun it! The art was lovely too!

After playing, I learned the controls seemed much better on M&K, which made me want to try again with it. ;) The controller support needs a little bit more love. Other than that, I would honestly say it's a fantastic puzzle/platformer which can TOOOOTALLY reward the player for moving fast!

If you were to make updates to the game, I would personally be interested in the speedrunning aspects.

Thanks for the great experience!

Thank you so much for playing and for great feedback! I'm developing and making improvements as we speak based on what i saw in your stream today. I plan on adding leaderboards to the game at some point after the jam as well so that people can share their times easier. I've also already done some minor improvements to the controller, but i'll still need to do some play testing to make sure it feels good for everyone. It feels fine for me as someone who hasn't really played games with controllers, but that might not be the case for everyone. Again, thank you for taking the time to play the game, really meant a lot to me!

such a nice idea. I've never played such version of there and back. It's a great great game. everything about it is good even the difficulty which is really really hard. and about the pillow there's a technique that you can throw the pillow under yourself in midair and bounce like a double jump. I don't know if it's on purpose or not but it's cool. I'm also a great sleeper and it's almost impossible to wake me up so  this game is actually my every morning reality. :))

Thank you so much for playing! :D That trick is actually what you're 'supposed' to use in the final level. I learned there are actually multiple ways you can beat it by watching people play it. You can also use it in other levels to get some really good times! Started as a bug, but honestly it felt so nice i left it in and now it's like one of the main features in the game. I don't teach it, i just kinda hope people learn about it like you did! :D And yes i'm also a very deep sleeper!

This is such a different spin on the theme, absolutely amazing! Loved the visuals, music and sounds. Credits make it seem like you were gonna give up on gamedev but don't haha, this is very fun to play and well polished (I played the downloadable version). One improvement could be to do with placing the pillow as sometimes it was annoying to get just right. Well done with this entry!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Throw force depends on how far the cursor is, so if you put the cursor right on the character, you'll just drop the pillow on your feet. Guess that's one way to place it down? Unless you were playing with a game pad, then that doesn't work in the current version. In the next update if you're not moving at all and you throw it (that is if you're not aiming with right stick), you'll just drop it. Either way, thank you so much for playing and im glad you liked it! :)

Omg I must have missed that :P Well in that case I have no improvements for you haha, well done!
