Did you work in a team?
Just me, I did programming + art + music. It was lots of fun and I learned a lot, already looking forward to the next one!

Was the resolution a challenge?
Not really, DragonRuby offers a sample 64x64 project from the previous Lowrezjam, and I enjoyed the constraint for this particular game since I am not that good at doing sprites yet and it helped keeping it simple.

What did you learn?
This was my first "real" game. I had only experimented with games using JS, but I do Ruby for a living and I absolutely love it, so getting to create a game using Ruby was *amazing*. I also never created Chiptune music before, so that was fun! I used to do 2-step and Dubstep years ago using Renoise, but I tried using FL Studio instead for this. Also got to work on HTTP with a small high score server for keeping track and displaying the best scores.

I had fun with this, snagged the second place score.

Nice work! Has a bit of a Mavis Beacon feel to it. :)

225000 i guess, the text went out too fast

The game is very simple and addictive, I played two times because the points went off the screen very quickly when you lose, I could hardly see it both times. the game reminds me of the protagonist of stanley parable (Stanley), he is a character whose job is to write every letter he sees on his screen, good entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Haha I didn't remember that about Stanley, and I played it too, I guess it was in the back of my mind.

And that's too bad about the text with the score going too fast, it should prompt for your name to submit it to the high score list, which is online and shared across all players! (only top 3 displayed, but yours would have made it to #2!)

Thanks again :)

I kept missing what my score was, too.

I don't think I'll be troubling the leaderboards but the fact that this game has leaderboards is impressive. This is a simple game but the execution is pretty much perfect and the graphics are skillfully done to bring personality and polish at this low resolution. Love the chiptune too. Top marks.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I was about to add some particle effects at one point based on code I saw you once worked on using DragonRuby, but ended up scrapping that part, so it's great to hear from you! :)

Flattering to hear, thank you! You really didn't need them though and they may have slowed down the HTML5 performance.

I also thought there was a good amount of polish to this simple but fun game.

Reminds me of the worst job i ever had.

I liked it. It's a simple concept, but a fun one, and you executed it well. I managed to get to inferno before losing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! Inferno is the second to last difficulty, so that's pretty good :)
