This is actually insane, you’re doing lords work by documenting this, crazy to think some games almost became lost media already.
This is super important not only for history tracking, but also to solidify the fact that TRS is a serious engine, with a serious quantity of games and a florescent community.
Also, Did you know we are trying to get to Engines Page but for some reason itch is ignoring us? From your data, we already have more games than 3 engines listed there!
Keep up this amazing work!

There are currently 38 TRS Games, but with the upcoming Tiny RPG Jam #3, this number will change!

Therefore, my Title will have the WRONG amount of Games, so I'll either:

1. have to Create a NEW Topic/Thread Post with NO number of games, and then link THIS Topic in it.

- OR : -

2. ask you (or Andre) to kindly Merge the two into THIS (since it's the Oldest) Topic when that time comes.

(I don't know what I was thinking by putting the number of games in my Title...)

UPDATE: Actually, thinking about it now, I'd rather not junk-up the wonderful TRS Forum for only a stupid one-post update New Topic linking to My List here, so would you be able to CHANGE My Topic Title please? I just want it to say:

Gamer735's Big List of ALL TRS (Tiny RPG Studio) Games So Far!

Thank you so much!

Developer

Done my friend! Changed the title of the thread. Also, the collection you created is an amazing idea aswell.
Creating games and using the engine is important, but documenting history and projects created is super important. Honestly, you’re an amazing member of the TRS community.

Really appreciate it, Diguifi Studios! I'm going to add an older Collection that archives the main Browser Engines I've found (and a couple others who helped, like Piteas [https://piteas.itch.io/  for telling me about WT/WhimTale], and Khi-R [for telling me about WW/WareWare, yet another DELETED itch.io user for a while now!]. And I can't forget finding Luisworks Studios [https://luisworks-studio.itch.io/  for finding Tiny RPG Studio in the first place!]), mostly to have them all in one place, but also to help others find them! I'll be adding TRS to it as well.

I also updated My TRS Games Collection's New Link to here, with the New Title. (Thanks again!)

I humbly give a big THANK YOU to both you and Andre for acknowledging my efforts in wanting to document your beautiful little engine.

Hey, Diego! Scroll down to near the bottom of My Page here for My Post to you (and Andre), where you'll find an important note I made to you about: King :that you searched for in your TRJ #3 YouTube Video! :D

Hey, DS! I've been so beat-out from lack of sleep (not just lately, but from all the missed sleep in my life), I was going right to bed after I got back home, but then I saw your reply on my phone and just had to login on my computer to reply back!

Yes, it's really sad. I've seen only a couple itch.io users just suddenly delete their accounts, and some who only deleted (or in the better case, hid) their work for reasons known only to them.

I must be honest here, I never planned to be the one to make the TRS Games List (AD's 30 was quite good, and the Explore option in TRS Editor itself), but after reading that a couple people wanted an updated list, I tried to get on that right away, dropping other things for the time being.

Also, in all honesty, the first time I tried TRS (it was shown to me when I clicked Luiswork's itch.io games. And then there's before all that, when two different users told me about a couple other online engines, though one of the users sadly deleted their entire account a while later on), I was intrigued due to the fact that it resembled PICO-8 sprites and was even more minimalistic (like Bitsy). I was so taken by it that I sat-up all night that day just finding and bookmarking every single TRS Game I could find! And my curiosity grew from that point on to actively looking for just how many of them there REALLY was. And so, here we are.  :)

In closing, thank you for the itch.io Engines Page, as I never knew about it before! (I went on my desktop computer last night searching more GBS Games and later, itch.io went DOWN! So I stopped what I was doing and headed to bed.)

Glad to hear that TRS has more games than 3 engines on itch.io's list! Don't feel too down though, as you'll notice that NONE of the Bitsy forks I listed before are even on their list, so!

I'll do my best keeping my list updated as often as possible, just as long as I'm made aware of the new TRS Games! So: users, please let me know in your own thread any time you make a game in TRS, ok?

I'm happy to be the tracker for your nice little engine's games, and I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon, so let's keep this incredible project going until it becomes a huge success, then itch.io will have no choice but to add it! :D

Hi, Fire Frog. As you can see in both of Diguifi Studios' TRS Game Jams YouTube Videos, he's ranking each game as he plays. From what I know of itch.io ratings, the Host must set the judging criteria, so if DS set it to only himself (and maybe Andre) to judge, then no-one else can.

Personally, I'm just fine with not being able to rate others' itch.io games, as it feels like it takes away from the ones who made those games, and it would cause real CHAOS if everyone got to rate games that others made! So it's best that ONLY Hosts can judge. :)

Also, I'll  consider your advice about making a Public TRS Games Collection on itch.io, since this thread I made of a TRS Games List can easily get over-run with comments (since I left that option enabled), so it sounds like a better idea.

I'll probably still keep this list updated just the same, as long as it doesn't get too many comments.

As for MY Games, they're all WIPs (Works-In-Progress) or POC (Proofs Of Concept). I've made only a very few myself, ranging from OHRRPGCE, Bitsy, WhimTale, etc, but I only ever uploaded peb's nswe Engine files because he vanished from the internet recently.

I've recently been thinking of making a full game, but I'll see how things go. If I ever make a full one and choose to upload it, it'll probably be a TRS one, since I like the features the engine has to offer.

UPDATE: I just Made a TRS Games Collection on My itch.io Profile Page as well! Please NOTE however that there are ONLY 36 TRS Games there, since Games #3 and #4 AREN'T on itch.io, so you'll need to access THIS PAGE for the FULL List of TRS Games!

NOTE: The Proper Page to View My Collection is here:

https://itch.io/c/7685432/gamer735s-collection-of-tiny-rpg-studio-games

...since the other link (https://gamer735.itch.io/) DOESN'T Show all of them! (On the above link page, newest games are shown at the top.)

And with that, I'll now ask everyone to PLEASE NOT COMMENT HERE anymore (since I don't know how to turn Comments OFF!), to avoid junking-up the page, so that I can focus on adding to, editing, and updating the List. Thanks!

Developer

Hey Gamer735, huge thanks for compiling this list! 🙌 Putting all 38 TRS games together in one thread is genuinely super helpful, and it's the reason I was able to go find the ones that were still missing.

Thanks to your list, I just added the following games to the EXPLORE tab, so they're now playable directly inside the editor (no need to leave the page):

  - Tiny RPG Test — jeancarls

  - Tiny RPG Studio Tutorial — Diguifi Studios

  - Null — André N. Darcie

  - The Legend of Elda — Luisworks Studios

  - The Adventure of Ink — Luisworks Studios

  - Ink's Awakening — Luisworks Studios

  - An Ink to the Past — Luisworks Studios

  - Siemowit — Fire Frog FF Studio

That's 8 new games added — the EXPLORE tab is now up to 37 titles total. 🎉

The only one I couldn't include was Serving Time by VeryLikely, since it's hidden and there's no public link to pull the game from. If it ever goes public (or someone can share the game URL), I'll add it right away.

Seriously, thank you again Gamer735 for keeping track of the whole TRS collection, it makes a real difference. 💛

You're quite welcome, André! I'm happy to be the one to take on this role (I never intended to go as far as I did). Glad I could help! It's awesome that you added the missing games to the TRS Editor itself (kind of makes my List here a bit moot, but it's more convenient, and people can still come here to see all of the games in a scrollable, readable format without any thumbnails!).

As for VeryLukely's ( NOT: VeryLikely, but it's an easy mistake to make ;) ) Serving Time, I made a copy of it (I tend to spend free time playing different games, but also editing games that others made, as I like to tweak them to my own liking, usually by making them tougher to beat), but I'd have to tweak my alterations out of it before I'd upload it.

I've not contacted VeryLukely, since I don't want to hijack any itch.io threads he's posted on (he apparently doesn't seem interested in TRS anymore, just Construct, according to his itch.io page), so I hope he wouldn't mind if I was to upload his game (my copy, but it's an exact replica)? I could even just do it long enough for you to be able to add it to TRS' Explore, and then I could take it down.

Let me know what you think!

PS: I'm curious as to how you got rid of the RESTART GAME BUG in JeanCarls' Tiny RPG Test when you added it to the TRS Editor's 'Explore' option? (Personally, I had to Make it from Scratch in order to get rid of the BUG!)

Also, any chance of Fixing the BUG that occurs Temporarily when you Change Rooms (the Top of the Screen Moves Down for about a couple seconds)?

And any plan to make maybe 3 Armors (to remove the God-like ability to take no damage [EXCEPT for Bosses] with the current almighty one armor that's in now)?

PPS: The Save BUG ("An Embedded Page at html-classic.itch.zone says: Unable to Generate the Game URL") still happens every so often. Is there a Fix yet? (Is it in the TRS Editor itself, or on itch.io's end? NOTE: Clicking- New Game -in the TRS Editor seems to Fix it, UNTIL Next Time...) This is a BIG DEAL, because your Game's Title and Author, along with any ReNamed Skills, and any other Data that you changed (eg. Custom Sprites), WON'T be Properly Saved!!! (I've found that the ONLY WAY to SAVE your Game is to Click- Save -and then Reload the WebPage, in order for the Changes to Take Effect, and then Click- Export -to Actually SAVE your Game, which also will Reduce the Default File Size [always a good thing!])

UPDATE: I just came back online and noticed that now, it WON'T even Save a Game I started: Saving it and then Reloading the Page RESETS it back to the Default Tiny RPG Studio data!!! This MUST be Fixed IMMEDIATELY! (I had ideas for 2 New WIPs I thought of during the night, but NOW, I CAN'T do anything about them! Well, I can technically Still Export INSTEAD OF Reloading the Page, BUT That Creates a Bigger .html File!)

Lastly, 2 NEW BUGS:

1. When you Level-Up, the Skills Selection Font is Too Big to read their Descriptions!

2. Saving and Exporting your Game now WON'T Save your Skills' Name and Description Changes!

Developer

Hey, thank you so much for this. Honestly, this is one of the most useful bug reports I've gotten. You clearly spent real time testing, and several of these turned out to be genuine bugs I was able to track down and fix. Huge thanks.

  Here's where things landed:

  Fixed:

  - The "Unable to Generate the Game URL" popup. That error was misleading. The link was actually being generated fine; itch.io was just blocking the auto copy to clipboard. The scary popup is gone now, and the URL is placed in the field ready for you to copy manually.

  - Custom sprites not saving. There was a real bug that could corrupt custom artwork when saving or sharing. Fixed.

  - Saving and reloading resetting to default. The big one. Saving and then reloading could wipe your game back to the default. Reloading now restores your last saved project instead of starting over. This also explains why your renamed skills and title/author "weren't saving", the whole game was reverting, not just those fields.

  - Level-Up skill descriptions being unreadable. They were getting squeezed and cut off with "...". They now use the full card space.

  - A crash when loading a malformed room that I found along the way.

  Not changed (yet):

  - The screen shifting down for a couple seconds when changing rooms. I couldn't reproduce this from the code. If you can tell me which direction you were moving, whether it's on desktop or mobile, and whether it happens inside the itch player or on the standalone page, that would help a lot.

  - The armor making you nearly invincible / adding 3 armors. You're right that the current armor is very strong. That one is a balance and design change rather than a straight bug fix, so I'm thinking it through before I touch it.

Turned out not to be bugs:

  - The Restart Game bug was already fixed in the current editor, which is why imported games into Explore don't have it.

I also added a small bonus: if a game ever gets big enough that a share link might break, you'll now get a heads up to use Export (HTML) instead. For perspective, the largest game currently in Explore only uses about 44% of that limit, so normal games won't ever hit it.

Thanks again, seriously. Reports like this make the tool better for everyone.

Hi, Andre. Glad I could help! And yes, I was a while testing, but I'm quite quick to post New Bugs once I've found any, since it doesn't take me long if I'm using the TRS Editor.

As for the temporary Screen Moving Down BUG:

1. I'm on a Chromebook and I only play in Browser (Google Chrome).

2. It happens in ANY of the 4 Main Directions.

3. It occurs Online (I don't know what the itch.io Player is, and I'm guessing Standalone = a Downloaded TRS build for My OS? Oh, you said Standalone Page, so you must mean Online).

Armors: It would just be more (JRR Tolkien, D&D, Minecraft or Luanti, actual RL [Real Life]) realistic if you took the Defense bonus off the 3 Swords and made 3 Armors for that, since Swords giving you a Def boost makes no sense, nor does having an all-powerful Armor that only lets Bosses do damage to, because we already have a Testing: God Mode. I personally prefer Survival-type play if Monsters are involved.

RGB: Ok, I get that, but I DON'T get why the Tiny RPG Test and Tiny RPG Tutorial STILL have that Bug when I play them from their Standalone Page (as I mentioned in another post, Diego had already made it moot by removing the End-Boss Gate, which I feel takes away from his Game). For clarity, TRTest has the RGB if you use Variable #2 for the End-Boss Gate, and TRTut has it if you use Variable #9. It's so weird to me that it couldn't be fixed that way. I have the Original File of each Game if you ever want to Test 'em out. If not, it's all good.

And I can still upload my version (as mentioned before, I'll take my Tweaks out to keep it original) of Serving Time just long enough so you can add it to the Editor if you like.

Also, I don't have time today to go back on the Editor, so I'll take your word for all those Fixes and give you a big THANK YOU in advance.

I still have NO Full Games of My Own after all my Years of Playing Games, BUT I plan to maybe finish a TRS WIP I recently started working on in the coming days, and I've already entered Tiny RPG Jam #3 (My First ever!), so I'll have at least 2 TRS Games done by that time.

Lastly, if I Upload my 2 planned TRS Games, I'd like to ask that you DON'T Add Them (they'll be EXEMPT from) to the Editor's: OPEN IN EDITOR, OR: EXPLORE, mainly for a  couple reasons:

1. I don't want to Bloat the Engine (Online or Offline).

2. So that you and DS can focus more on even More TRS Engine Updates rather than waste time adding another game (I don't want the In-Game List to get too big or long, as it may affect Performance in the end!).

So instead, I'll just Post My TRS Games on My itch.io Profile Page (I made a Collection for 'em), and HERE, so I can Update them when needed (eg. New TRS Build, and if I add content or improve on them).

Thanks again for your Fixes, your attention to my findings, and your fast response in taking care of them. I really appreciate such efforts on both your parts for squashing bugs and being so open to listening to what others have to say! THAT'S exactly how TRS will get noticed by more people once they see just how focused you both are and how caring. Can't thank ya's enough!

I've just added Siemowit 2 to Both of My Pages. Thanks for your entry and shout-out to My Collection!

Also, I like that you're asking others to edit your game and get involved, it's a nice way to flesh-out your own games! (I myself just want to even start making full games and then release them so others can play them, no edits or anything.)

There you go, Diego and Andre, WE'RE NOW AT 50 TRS GAMES!!! Take THAT, itch.io! Do you see TRS Now, people at itch.io? :D

Also, Diego: in your TRJ #3 YouTube Video, when you were thinking of the other TRS Games with- King -in them, you browsed My TRS Games Collection, BUT IF you'd come here to My Big List of TRS Games, you would've found that there are THREE TRS Games with that:

1. Time Of Kings (probably the one you were thinking of! It's Listed ONLY Here on My Page!)

2. The King's Cake

3. The King Is Dead

Developer

Thank you very much for putting the effort to look for the game I mentioned, but turns out it was actually “a medieval murder”, the first sentence in the game is:
“The queen is dead”
so yeah, I completely messed up in my head and thought it said “king” and also thought it was in the title xD

Ah, that makes sense. And yes, you're right about that. Still, good to know the- King -thing, in case anyone else ever comes across it. :)

Now, concerning Jam #3 and a couple other things, I'd like to clarify some stuff for you and others, so here comes a ("dreaded") wall of text for you! (But I'll try to shorten it as much as I can.)

First, I noticed that most of our 7 games got 3-5 ratings (meaning, not every entrant chose to rank the other 6 games), so what's the point of "us" even voting if the entrants don't all vote on each game? It makes me not want to bother voting in the first place, so if I enter another jam in the future, I probably won't be voting anymore. Oh well, at least I feel better knowing that your ranking was the one that mattered (at least to me). Not only that, but MY GAME GOT PLAYED THE LONGEST (mainly since people can't open it in the Editor to CHEAT!), so I achieved that goal!

And, I see that some entrants used my idea of splitting rooms to "make more than 9 rooms" (not that I'm the first to think of that, but I'd posted about it not long ago), though a couple went a bit too far with that, and it made their games a more cluttered mess to look at because of it. Still, I was more generous than most when it came to Game Rankings, as I gave Higher Stars than I probably should've, though I didn't go overboard with it, as I still kept some semblance of a decent yay-nay system for the Stars according to what I felt was warranted when I played each game.

That's also why I stripped the TRS Editor Code from SOM (Players can't Cheat), along with the fact of Stealing Assets (I Made Custom GFX, you just didn't notice them!) as well as the Game! What I mean by that is (for everyone who doesn't know yet), bad people online love to STEAL others' games (especially HTML5 via Code) and SELL them on Websites that have many pop-up Advertisements, and thus making money off of games that are MEANT to be FREE! So now you know why I said about Stealing in My SOM Game's Comment Reply to Owltears.

So, I was finally able to get around to watching your YouTube Video of you playing the TRJ #3 Games. I need to tell you that the "Bug" you kept facing when a Boss kills you ISN'T an actual Bug, that's how it's meant to be in RPGs: if you die on a Boss, you must restart the game because even if you Revive ('Second Life' Skill), the Boss will be gone and their Trigger (opening a Gate, etc) along with them! So, kindly don't try to fix that, ok? Without it, we lose the feel of how a REAL RPG is supposed to work! (Think of it this way: it's a Punishment for not killing the Boss in the first place!)

And yes, you can say I'm a perfectionist (it's a curse!), but I'm pleased that you're a completionist (me too!), as you forced yourself to unlock ALL 3 of My Game's Endings, so thanks for that! Sorry that I made it so deep (you never actually found all the hidden use of variables in Room 1-1, but you did a good job finding the main ones).

I now know that YOU made the GFX, so about that: My Fixes are real, and I still don't see how the Mage even as a hunchback can have his arm way up like that (I'm an artist, so I can see things from different angles, but I can't see how that arm's not a mistake. I've even made a New Sage in one of My WIPs just from looking at the Dwarf King a different way!). You gave me an idea there though: I'm gonna Make the Mage Sprite a Hunchback (bent over and using a cane, which that high-up arm should be lowered a lot in order to rest his hand on the cane, with his big back hump weighing him down and over) in My TRS Editor Art Fixes that I Made not long ago. And the Kings: ALL 3 are MISSING their right arm (go look!), and the reason you never noticed that their middle fur part of their robes are unaligned is because I FIXED that too (so that's 3 Different Fixes that I Made to your GFX) in My SOM (I left the Original Mage in SOM so that people could see the difference when compared to My "Fixed" Mage in Room 2-1)! Still, KUDOS to you for making TRS' GFX, as it and the Combat are main things that drew me to the engine in the first place!

Thank you for the BGM ability, even though it's only a YouTube Link (but they take a while to load while playing a TRS Game).

Also, thanks for your "Gate Locks Behind You" Tutorial, as well as Andre using the Chat (I never knew he had a YT Channel, so I Sub'd him too). Are you more used to English than Andre? (He seemed to speak PT/POR in the videos I saw.)

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to write all of this! I really appreciate the detailed feedback, and thanks again for participating in the jam and watching the stream.

Regarding the voting, I actually think it’s valuable even if not everyone rates every game. More ratings always help create a broader picture of how the community felt about the entries, even if some scores end up being similar or if the total number of votes isn’t huge. Every opinion adds something, so I’d definitely encourage everyone to keep voting.

About removing the Open in Editor button: I completely understand why you’d want that option, and I think it makes sense to let developers decide. I’ll add an option in the editor to hide that button when exporting a game.

That said, I just want to clarify one thing regarding asset or game theft. Unfortunately, hiding the editor doesn’t really prevent it. Since TRS games run entirely in the browser, anyone determined enough can still download the assets or even recreate the entire game structure and upload it somewhere else. That’s an inherent limitation of web games in general, not something specific to TRS. So having or not having the “Open in Editor” button doesn’t really change that reality.

On the other hand, your comment reminded me of something I’ve been wanting to add for a while: an Asset Export/Import feature. That way creators can easily reuse their own sprites, tiles, portraits, etc. across multiple projects instead of having to redraw all their pixel art every time they start a new game.

Regarding the boss situation, I understand your point, but there’s another issue with just leaving it as is. If the boss disappears while its trigger hasn’t been activated yet, reviving doesn’t really make sense because the player is forced to restart anyway. So I’ll make a small adjustment, but instead of automatically activating the trigger when you die, the boss simply won’t disappear after defeating the player. That way, if you revive, you’ll have one more chance to defeat it, and if you don’t have a resurrection available, the experience remains essentially the same.

I’m also glad you enjoyed the BGM support, the tutorials, and the stream! And yes, André is Brazilian like myself, but makes most of his videos in Portuguese. I just tend to use English more often I think, but I believe he’d be happy to join me in a video fully in english.

Finally, thank you once again for joining the Tiny RPG Jam, for the thoughtful feedback, and for watching the video. Feedback like yours really helps shape the engine. Stay tuned—there are plenty more updates and features coming soon!

You're very welcome for all of it, Diego! I also very much give a massive thank you to you and Andre when you acknowledge my feedback, as TRS is a big first of things for me, being absolutely taken by it to the point that I felt compelled to track its games, finally make a game of my own, and then submit it to your game jam. TRS is incredible!

I totally agree with your ideas about voting, and so, I'll be sure to try to submit more games if possible and vote if I do! You have some great feedback as well, sparking my interest even more in TRS!

AMAZING that you'll add an option to hide the Open in Editor button, and especially the Asset Import/Export, as I've wondered about that myself (since Whimtale has had that feature for quite a while), as it'll make it so much easier for us to create in TRS, and hopefully encourage more people to make TRS Games!

And WOW to your idea about the Boss dying if you die on it, I hadn't even thought of doing that! I thought me being so detailed was going to be frustrating, but now I realize that if I wasn't this way, I couldn't provide any valuable feedback at all, so I'm glad I can help you two make improvements to this wonderful little engine that I fell in love with!

I can't wait for the updates, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Zrobiłem Moda do Siemowit 2. Nie jest to wprawdzie odrębna gra, ale bardziej Mod, ale chyba też zasługuje na dodanie do kolekcji.

Glad you posted that here, FF. People will see it, along with My Siemowit 2 Additions from before. I Never listed it on My Big List because both are Mods of Siemowit 2, but they're both in your Siemowit Collection, so that's great.

Może ja sam stworzę kolekcje z Modami zrobionymi w TRS, ale musi ich być więcej.

What exactly do the mods do

I Updated My List and My TRS Games Collection to include My Newest TRS Game (more of a Tutorial) = Hunchback Sage:

Enjoy!

That's 51 TRS Games now!

To Diego: I added a TEMPORARY Link at the end of My Big List up there that links your TRJ #3 YouTube Video (I'll remove it if you like, once you've added it to your TRJ #3 Page).
