Thank you so much! We are glad you like it <3

Blown away by what you were able to output in 48hrs. Atmospheric too, which I always enjoy

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much <3
It really means a lot to us, especially since this was our first jam.

This is cute, good job! I love the cat scientist asset, and the animations are very nice. I wish the cutting animation maybe affected more plants in the area, but still it was a good time to play!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much <3

I get what you mean concerning cutting. We originally planned on doing more tools with different ranges and effects, but the short timeframe actually forced us to reduce it to the tools now available inside the game.

Hope, you had a fun experience anyway.

Submitted(+1)

I did! I understand how it goes, ya can't implement everything.

Wow the 3D character animation and cutscenes were wonderful. Not something you normally seen done well in a game jam like this. I wasn't sure what to do once I got to the part where it said I had to let it grow into the purple cross area since I had already cut all of the bushes that spawned outside the initial square and nothing ever grew after that.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for pointing out the 3D character and cutscenes. Really glad you liked it.

Did you try pressing "Q" for quick spawning more plants? I don't know if this would have worked for sure, but I encountered the issue once myself and "Q" helped fixing it. Maybe, if you are interested in giving it another try, this would work as a solution.

loved the graphics, audio and game play but found it annoying when i accidentally cut a plant from the middle of the middle of a pattern after controlling the plants around it and seemingly getting soft locked.

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear you had issues while playing and got stuck in the middle.
Apparently, others had this bug too. Hope you still had some fun during the game and thank you very much for the nice comment on graphics, audio and game play. It really means a lot :)

I love the art, everything looks so good including the tooltips which were a great touch. I noticed a couple bugs, 1) When I pressed R at one point it changed the state of the game to something I think is unintended, and 2) When you go to water the second symbol if there's already plants there, you have to cut them and wait for new ones to grow in the same place before they'll turn purple.

Also if you've cut one of the plants in the symbol but watered others, it looks like a plant will never grow back in that spot so you can't progress :/ Otherwise one of the most polished games I've seen yet, great job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review <3

We're really glad you liked the design and everything and hope, you had a fun experience despite the bugs you found.

the art style, music and animations are nice. smooth controls.

but plants didnt grow fast on pressing q.

overall cool game

Developer(+3)

Thank you very much :)

I'm sorry to read you had issues with fast growing plants. But I'm glad you liked it anyway and hope it didn't spoil too much of the gaming experience.

nice game and cool game play

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We are glad you like it :)

We also did a vine/plant growing out of control!

Love the art and presentation, also very impressive that you got a quest/objective system done too. The growth seemed to be a bit too delayed, perhaps? I found myself about to quit the game after waiting for quite a while when suddenly more would spawn.

Developer(+2)

Too fast a spawn rate was far too difficult, we had to tone it down - Press "Q" to instantly grow all plants if you're waiting for too long :)

Wish we could've made this feature more clear! It's only told in a quick Dialog box, unfortunately.

Developer(+3)

I'm currently finishing a graphic for instructions on how to play. Will upload it once ready. Hope, this will make it a bit easier :)

Game won't execute :(

Sorry for that!
Unreal Engine requires some prerequisites (DirectX, VCRedist etc) to be installed. If you're still interested; those can be installed with BotanicHeavenBotanicHavoc\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us\UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe. :)
