Aim for the wall and press towards it to stick and fling the cocoon towards the boss. You need to have a long string at the bottom of the stage with your tension bar in the red to get enough force to fling at and hurt the boss.

I love the use of the theme of the jam, and it is very original. It took me awhile to really understand, so I took time to read the page description and play around some more- I think if I continue to play it more I'd see the depth with added visuals, strategies and traps in the environment. There was clearly a lot of thought put into the concept, design and even the sound design as well.
I think the game could benefit from a more detailed tutorial or explanation, and despite opening in another tab for gameplay some of the HUD was cut off like the bosses HP (I probably should've just ran in full screen if it was available). It also would've been nice to have a sound track playing, something threatening to emphasize the feeling of being tethered and carried away.
Very good job overall, rated!
Thanks Archius.
"more detailed tutorial or explanation"
Yeah, I think that is the strongest thing holding it back.
Took me awhile to get use to the controls and figure out hot to slingshot the character to damage the spider, but all in all this was a very fun & interesting game, and the way you setup the dificulty to only progress once the spider was damage was nice. This could actualy become a mobile game.
"setup the difficulty to only progress once the spider was damaged"
Glad you noticed!
"figure out how to damage the spider"
I could definitely do better there.
Thanks for taking a look.
Finally got everything working and beat the game! Really fun! 10/10!
Nice! Thanks for letting me know.
Seeing people not "get it" in the comments is teaching me that I need to work much harder on that aspect.
Pretty Hard I guess. but really interesting and good!
Thanks Xaxana.
Were you able to hit the boss and damage it at least once?
It should be pretty easy, and if not I probably didn't make the game mechanics clear enough.
yeah i think i damaged boss maybe its hard for me who knows!
" who knows!"
If you fling in the yellow area, you just bounce off and it makes a metal "boing".
If you stretch a little longer to the red zone at the bottom of the stage, you fling hard towards it and do noticeable damage.
Pretty Hard I guess.(Until I pressed "k" for immediate win........)
How'd you like the explosion animation? Satisfying?
yeah.
I think this is a very complex game(like mine) and very fun but hope can have tutorial?
Press a direction toward the wall.
Stick to the wall and get long string.
When your string is near the bottom of the level, and your UI meter at the bottom of the screen is red, let go and you launch at the boss and do damage to it.
Cool idea with the slingshot - the mechanic has real potential. The graphics and menu look nice and polished. The only thing is that the cocoon’s interaction with objects sometimes feels odd: it either sticks with no chance to detach, or bounces away. My funniest death happened when a spider and a ball trapped the cocoon and played “paintball” with it, ending fatally. Overall, the game looks fun - good luck with further development!
The idea is that you only have enough force to hurt it when you launch from the red zone with really long string.
That definitely needs work being communicated correctly.
Thanks for letting me know your experience.
I understood the main idea of the controls, and that’s how I was actually playing. But when other objects appear on the stage - balls, platforms - the cocoon often crashes into them while flying from below. After these collisions, strange things happened. Sometimes the cocoon stuck tightly to a ball if the ball was smaller in size (I mean the mechanic of the cocoon growing larger), or it bounced off in a completely chaotic trajectory, with no way to control it. Although, maybe it was because I was using Firefox - as I understood, there were some issues with that browser.
how did you get gemini 3.1 pro for free and gemini flash for the whole game development without paying money? u are genius.
You can use the new 3.5 Flash for a long time in AI Studio before running out of free credits.
I think it is smarter than 3.1 Pro.
Use multiple Google accounts and you get tons of free AI Studio use.
so you don't go to the standard gemini website?
Correct.
https://aistudio.google.com/
A much higher quality developer environment.
And also go download Google Antigravity. You also get free regular tokens just for that, and it is even more powerful.
You're missing out if you haven't tried Antigravity / Codex / OpenCode / Devin / Cursor. They all give free tokens and the AI can directly edit your files instead of writing the whole thing back to you every time.
which one is me? and how do I control these things? me confused.
You are the silk cocoon. The spider is pulling you.
Lean against the wall and you will stick and get longer silk string.
Get the string long, at the bottom of the level, in the red zone, and you will have tension to fling at the spider and hurt it.
Don't make the string too long past the red zone or you will damage it.
BONUS: You can press the "K" button and win instantly.
When I tried to play the game it wouldn’t compile shaders? I tried on Firefox and Brave.
Hmm... I just tested on Brave on Mac and it worked, and Firefox on Mac and got stuck too.
I will try and fix it.
It should work in Chrome without issue.
Oh, I’m on CachyOS, so that might be why.
Apparently GPU hardware acceleration sometimes gets blocked by Linux. I just added a flag that will detect this and display the following message:
“PERFORMANCE ALERT: This game is running with slow CPU rendering (no GPU acceleration) and will experience severe lag. To fix this, enable 'Hardware Acceleration' in your browser settings, or try switching to another browser (like Chrome) or a different device.”
I just read your other comment too. Glad to hear it is working without issue!
Compatibility issues on Brave and Firefox should be resolved now.
Silly me for forgetting to test on multiple browsers.
Thanks for letting me know Mr. Coconut.
Great! Thanks! It worked now! Really well done! Amazing soft body physics!
Thanks. Were you able to get the boss to 0HP?
I tried to make the demo pretty easy to just show off the mechanics and different entities.
Oh! Didn’t know there was a boss! I’ll give it another try and let you know!
The spider is the boss. It only takes about 5 hits to beat her. The minions change every time she receives damage.
Wait, I’m not the spider?
Didn’t know that! I’ll give it a try today!

It's a little difficult to understand, but it's a good attempt. You can rate my game. Starbound Paradis
What did you find difficult to understand?
