tell me why I got spent like 30 mins on this. And the thing was on the edge and then I died.... SMH.
thanks for making a nightmare that I couldn't put down. It's the Sisyphus in me
I am not sure what type of sarcasm are you using here, so...
You're welcome! (I'm sorry)
Lol! To be sincere for a moment, nice work!
The game is very simple and yet charming and keeps you trying to win.
There is something special about this. I think you did a great job.
Thank you! I didn't get time to finish it (that's why it feels unfinished). It was gonna be a small metroidvania/roguelite, but 3 days don't give for much... °^°
This is definitely a nice start to something much greater. I like the idea of collecting the crystals to make your swing better. I bet if you had more time to work on this, it could've been great. Good job!
Thank you! Glad you can see the potential at least... hehe
Only 3 days for this level of work is impressive!! Great job!!
Yay! :D Thanks a lot ^0^
Pixel art was great. movement mechanic was also fun
Interesting idea. I liked the overall feel at the beginning and I kinda thought that my jump maybe changes with time or these things that I gather. At one point I just treated it as an idle game but with holding a button until I had a lot of those stars thingies but I wasn't exactly sure what do I do with them. At first I thought maybe currency to upgrade but never found a way to do that beyond making my sword have that pickaxe part.
Overall was interesting but I suppose it took way too much time that I ended up with maybe 12 of those stars (first row) and 6 or so on the second? Didn't count but at that point I just quit and that invincible thingy didn't budge.
For the time you said you made it in, pretty great to be honest. The art is just amazing and the sounds were spot on.
Good work overall!
Thanks for the feedback!
The stars were added in the last 30 minutes :') they increase your swing speed and strength, but the system is quite broken and not really useful; the game was meant to be a metroidvania/roguelite of sorts, and the strength and speed upgrades were part of the collectibles or boss knockback reward.
good graphics, but the essence of the game is not very clear
Thanks! and yeh; I just had enough time (in 3 days) to design and establish the central mechanic and visual elements. The rest was gonna be a metroidvania, but as you can see, I submitted this 1 minute before the deadline, soooo... :')
Just finished it. I really liked the colour palette you used here and the game is honestly quite polished for only three days. Being honest, it felt kinda slow and after a while I just started to watch a video while holding D until I pushed this creature far enough. I think you could keep retention by making upgrades more active (e.g. through a shop at the beginning). You could also go all into this absurd scenario where game's entire lore resolves around no one being able to push this thing off the cliff. No one until the hero - the candle.Thats just a suggestion though, I enjoyed it!
Tanks! glad you liked it! :D
And yeh; the main idea was for it to be a sort of metroidvania/roguelite, where you explore the map to get upgrades and then fight the boss until you get knocked out of a sky island back into the map, were you can find more upgrades, but I couldn't do it I'm weak =~=
The stars you get are a remnant of that concept; they upgrade (too slowly) your swing speed or strength, but it ended up reeeeaaaally half-cooked º^º
i loved the candle guy, super cute :)
Yay! :D
A neat little game with some nice pixel art
Thankuu ^o^
Such a shame you didn't have enough time to finish it, I would've loved to play another banger game from Niko
Yay! Thank youuu :D
(Ets del Deià , veritat? jsjs recordo veure el vostre joc i pensar; o bé no tenim els mateixos profes, o tampoc heu après gaire que no sapiguesiu fer ja d'abans)
I am planning to get straight into another longer and more laid back jam, this was my way of getting into the mindset mwehehe so look forward to that! (Or play some of my other games, I dunno 0=0 )
I'm also gonna rework, expand and publish Ñamto as a first commercial game; hopefully in the near future... (2027?)
I could't do it, couldn't push the darn thing. But it was fun. The only thing that bothered me was the sound, it was starting to get on me nerves. Other than that, it was a good game!
Yeh, I just had enough time to do the bare bones of the project, it is in dire need of playtesting and polish (and thats ignoring the fact that there's practically no gameplay and the absence of music)
Thanks for playing! And glad you found the fun in my half cooked project hehe
nice little idle game, you can make the candle thing auto play itself while you make breakfast and play other games.
I love it when the game is to not play the game ° - ° (I lie, I am a liar😔) but I'm glad you found it nice in that way!
Hey, nice visuals and physics. Shame about the music, hope you have better luck next time finding a musician. Would sure help pass the time given the relaxed pace... Impressive solo effort!
Check out my team's submission if you're interested
Thanks! I always want to make my own music (and everything else) but in the 3 days I had to work on the jam I didn't come up with nothing that quite worked...
pretty cute
Thanks!
So simple, so fun. I don't know what the stars do but I had about 20 of them by the time I quit. LOVE the flame effect. For a moment I thought I was actually burning up and only had limited time to push the thing over, but nope. Very cute art, fun music. Love this game.
Thank you! I sadly did not have time to create any music (I had just 3 days) so I dunno what are you talking about °^° (sound effects?)
I had to add the whole star mechanic in the last 30 minutes before submission, so it is VERY half cooked (as the rest of the game, honestly. At first it was gonna be a weird metroidvania... 3 days don't really allow you to do a lot...)
Anyways: the stars represent your strength and turning speed, I don't even know which bar is wich cus I had 5 minutes left to add them TvT
Happy you liked it anyway! :D
Yeah the piano tiles sounds every time you hit the ground or wall. It was very musical lol. Are you going to continue this? I'd love to play a little candle in a metroidvania.
Ohhh... Nice! It's actually a sort of bowl shaped bell I recorded and edited heavily but it's true that it sounds sorta piano-y (maybe a more like a deep xylophone?)
Anyways, I might continue developing it, but I have like 10 other projects I'd rather work on rn, so I can't promise!
