Thanks so much for the comment! Really appreciate it. Glad I was able to give you ‘false nostalgia’ with the soundtrack lmao

This game would be like gold for any YouTuber looking for reaction content. I love the art style and the way you followed the theme was a genius move.
I also NEVER want to play through it again because, MY LORD does this ramp up in difficulty towards the end.
The 'gauntlet' staircase at the end with all the mousetraps was just diabolical man... This game literally would've broken me if it weren't for the checkpoints. Still I HAD to finish it and did :')
I must congratulate you on making such a challenging game... I need to go recover my sanity now.
The art and overall presentation is very stunning; I love the HD-2D style and lighting/atmosphere. It feels great to collect things in this game and the grind factor/loop was addictive at first... Personally, for me the only thing it's lacking is true challenge - the enemies in practice function too similarly to mining and it feels more like you're harvesting them rather than fighting/engaging.
I still think it's an incredible 'collectathon' and resource management game and while I would appreciate more challenge to balance things out, this could be more down to personal preference and might not have been what you were going for. For those who want a chill time collecting/grinding though, I can't fault this game at all. Amazing effort, no question among the best in the jam.
Thanks very much, I had a great time working on the audio/soundtrack and our visual artist really cooked on this one too! The mechanics can take a little while to adjust to for sure, especially if you haven't played a game with this type of switching before, which is why we included the tutorial menu (easy to miss!). Still, glad you persisted and figured it out!
Really appreciate the comment, cheers man :)
I love vampire survivors and this definitely scratched that itch for me, great job. The switching was a great twist. The upgrades were cool too - I found the homing 'dash attack' for the daggers surprising and pretty unique.
Oh and nice music too! It really ramps up about 2mins in and was well done.
Made it to wave 10 and had fun with this. Might need to play it again later to beat that boss...
Hey thanks very much, I really enjoyed producing this soundtrack, I think a good deal came together for us on this one. There was certainly a lot of love put into it on all fronts (audio, visuals, programming, design). SO glad you were able to make it through the game to experience all it had to offer! Quite a few people so far have struggled with the difficulty lol (myself included to an extent) but I found it rewarding/fun to get through once it 'clicked'
I think this is pretty underrated! Nice visuals, also the grappling hook was satisfying once I stumbled across it by mistake! A tutorial would've been a good inclusion for stuff like that. I played through the whole game including the boss without 'rage mode' because I couldn't figure out how to activate it!
Overall, though this was a fun game - the jumping around and grappling hook (or frog tongue??) were the best parts for me
Great work! Cool to see other teams use polarity mechanics in their game. I think yours is the only true 3D one though and you executed it pretty nicely.
The overlapping chaos in the final phase sometimes felt a-bit cheap and overwhelming. I managed to beat it easily though once I realised you could absorb the gold lasers. Would've liked more music and maybe some more SFX when you're shooting the drone. Overall an impressive game and one of my favourites that I think interpreted the theme very well!
Thank you on behalf of the team!
Our visual artist (Kekaiyo) did an exceptional job. We had a great time working on the atmosphere of the game to complement Calum’s challenging gameplay (and hopefully encourage players to stick at it when things get a-bit difficult).
I personally enjoyed your game a lot too btw.
Really well executed with a satisfying and absurd ending! Kudos
Thanks so much for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the overall atmosphere and challenging gameplay and I appreciate the fact you gave it a go despite the ‘high reaction, arcade style’ not being your usual preference. The fact you still ended up finding it engaging is a huge compliment (I’m sure Calum will be chuffed with that). The team had a great time working on this. Many hours, but a rewarding project for all of us.
Yes, full screen would’ve been nice (unfortunately had a some visual bugs to iron out there I think)
Also none of us could quite agree on the ‘right’ mouse sensitivity in the end so definitely a good call on Calum’s part including the slider 🙂WASD/Gamepad controls would also be nice additions.
Thanks again, I’ll be sure to try out your game too!
Once you get a streak going this game is great arcade fun - feels like bumper cars in space with crazy physics. That damn clown boss with his swarm of enemies was SO difficult even on 'easy'. Overall great work following the theme. Cool art and I enjoyed the music.
Check out my team's submission if you're interested, would appreciate it. We too went with a space adventure. If performance is an issue, try the downloadable.
Cool boss design/move set and a nice nod to ocarina of time with the sword beam clash thing. More than a 'nod' to Zelda I should say given the minish cap assets... Beware of the Nintendo ninjas on this one.
I managed to kill 3 Links!
Check out my team's submission if you're interested, would appreciate it :)
Beautiful art style and ambient music/atmosphere. This game can be punishing for sure, so it was a great choice to include the visual indicators for enemies about to switch their colour.
Very nice work on this! I'm only a collaborator and can't rate, but I'll tell my team dev to check this one out.
Check out my team's submission if you're interested in a space adventure (we also happened to use switching mechanics in our game!)
Hi Mya, thanks so much for your kind words. I had a blast making the sfx and music for this game. There were a few inspirations including classic arcade shooters of course like Gradius 3, with “Polarity” being initially inspired by the game ‘Fast RMX’. There are actually 3 bosses (one at the end of each level) and the mechanics, although fundamentally simple, aren’t fully realised/pushed until levels 2 and 3. But even so, glad you had fun with the first level despite the difficulty!
As a side note - for anyone seeing this, if you happen to be struggling with browser performance - would recommend the download ver. (especially due to the precise gameplay and relatively high difficulty).
Happy Jamming🫡
