I really liked this, it was pretty difficult and the lasso is fun to use, I just with it was better in combat.
really cool game. I liked how you had 2 different ways of attacking, and I liked traveling between stations.
Other than the lasso being finicky it was very fun
This was a pretty cool experience, I think the lasso mechanic could definetly have been utilized more than what it is so far. As it is, it's pretty much just a slower way to attack compared to shooting. But I love the way the lasso spins and the way you can aim it over at enemies. I wish there was something where you lasso them and throw them around, rather than just pressing right click to damage them as youre tethered to them. But otherwise the graphics and music was neat, despite the lack of sfx!
Thank you for rating! the lasso is different from the gun as it give you health, unlike the gun that gives you scrap and gold for upgrades, and it is essential for the final boss :D
cool mechanics and fun experince wish there was more sound effects though
This game was really fun! The lasso mechanic forces you into close combat which makes the gameplay very intense. The difficulty feels just right. If I had to suggest any changes, I would say that it would be cool if more things had polish to them like how the resources splat out of enemies / barrels. Maybe add sounds to shooting, and particles for when you break the laser doors?

Also I laughed quite a bit at this dwarf in the intro area.

I had fun with this game! I think the concept of using a lasso to break obstacles/damage enemies is a really cool concept once you get the controls down. This was especially apparent in the room with the shield enemies where you need to use your lasso and gun to destroy them. I think this is a great foundation to make a commercial title. The audio really stood out to me, the sounds of the enemies saying "no one gets out of the box" and the song match the energy. I also really liked that you had an upgrade system to make things flow a little better, as well as a station select so a player can choose a map based on their skill level.
I did really enjoy playing this, but I have some things I noticed:
When the tutorial for the shield enemy plays I think the game should be paused, I was stressed and closed it early because I started taking a little damage and ending up needing to redo it
This game can be a little challenging for people in the first level, I think to introduce players into the game a little lighter the first stage should be a little more forgiving in that first starting area. When you continue on this game maybe a little cutscene with one of the inmates and the player kills one bot before being set to being chased down could ease a player in a bit more.
Once again, this was a really great game, especially for a game jam. I just know you want to continue to work on this title so I wanted to leave an honest review :)
it was fun game it needs more sfx and more game feel and juice
and the game was hard abit
Really fun gameplay loop, I like how each station feels like a small challenge that keeps you engaged. The whole system of choosing between lasso kills for health and gun kills for resources is actually a really cool idea, it adds a nice layer of decision making
The game can get pretty challenging, but in a good way that makes you want to keep improving. Maybe having some control remapping or clearer options would make it more accessible for everyone
Overall really solid entry with a unique twist, I’d love to see this expanded further. If you get a chance, check out my game too, I’d really appreciate your feedback
Balancing between gun kills and lasso kills felt very unique, i'm a big fan!
Thanks so much! It was a random idea we had and loved it so much we had to add it! :D
I really like this game, the gameplay loop is super fun and the stations are small yet difficult. The game can get very challenging but is still super fun. I love the music in the game, and the art is pretty good too. This is a great game, its unfortunate it hasnt gotten many ratings yet.
Thank you so much! We are going to expand it in the future to improve the levels and add a bunch more features :D
would have loved to play this but it is in WASD and I have a french keyboard (will obviously not rate it, don't want to review bomb it just because I am french x)
Oh sorry about that, probably should have made a controls mapping thing, but thanks for not review bombing! :D
this game will continue to be developed and get better even after the jam!
if your looking for more details about the game: its a top down shooter where the player gets a lasso and a gun, killing a bot with the lasso gives you a health core, and killing a bot with the gun gives you gold and scrap needed to buy upgrades, after you escape the initial level (The Box) you need to travel to at least 5 other stations with different stats. once you feel strong enough and you have run through at least 5 stations you may return to The Box to save the other prisoners, but beware, some thing plans to keep you in The Box forever.
