There's not much I can say that others haven't already. I enjoyed the gameplay (I'm a sucker for games that have you cleaning and tidying up places, I originally even planned to make a game in that vein for this jam before going with my final idea). The art style is simple but effective and works well.
I did notice one issue that I didn't see others mention. The UI doesn't scale quite right when resizing the window. The anchors on the buttons for example do move accordingly but the menu art and crosshair don't scale right. I can't quite remember off the top of the head what the causes for that could be (maybe the export scaling option, how you order the objects in your scene tree, or maybe even both?).
I don't want you to think that I disliked your game just because that section was longer than the praise though. I just wanted to go into detail as much as possible for future reference. I think your game is really solid and I wish you good luck on the jam!
I realised there was a bug with UI scaling after uploading. I tested game on fixed resolution before, so I wasn't aware of it. I'm still not sure how to fix it, but I'll look for solution. Don't worry, I really appreciate your feedback, thank you for your time!
Bro all you need is a cozy winter background music with some sound effects =w=
I'll look for it after voting is over, thank you for playing!
Congratulations on your first solo work! It came out as a cute little game! :)
Minor things:
I finished the game on the first try without understanding what the duster is used for. So I restarted the game and discovered that apparently no dust piles spawned for me when I first played the game. I do not know what causes this issue, I restarted a couple of times, and it is seemingly random.
This is a personal preference, but I would be glad if you allowed the full screen option (in itch, within the edit options). Since the camera is tied to the mouse, changing browser tabs / alt-tabbing desyncs the cursor from the game. Allowing full screen would counter this.
A simple soundtrack would make a world of difference, I think.
Oh, that's interesting bug, I haven't seen it while testing. Full screen option should work now. I'll look for some nice soundtrack after voting is over, thank you for your feedback!
I like the cozy vibe! Cleaning snow is satisfying. I think it would be better if it had some quest ui.
I'd appreciate it if you could play our game, too :)
Good point about UI, I'll consider it in an update. Thank you for playing!
I like the idea of cleaning. It could use some more music and sound effects but otherwise it's nice.
You're right, I was afraid finding some nice music would take too much time so I left it as it is. I'll try update this after voting is over!
Cute little game. Some sound effects and/or music would have done a lot. Also adding collision and maybe left click to interact. Love the art style!
I'm glad you like art!
cute concept i like the look of this game. a little hard to figure out in the beginning but i got the hang of it. got a little confused with the logs - i finished the game without realizing the fire would finish the game. i think a bit of instructional info at the beginning would be helpful.
The game ends when you finish all tasks (plow all snow, dust away everywhere and light up fire) I just set timer before win screen to show up for too long so it may be confusing. I'll add this to description, thank you for your feedback!
Nice and cozy, only lacked a calm soundtrack really. I was left little confused how the duster was used. I ended up lighting up the fire and then realized I had picked up logs. Probably when plowing the snow out from the log pile.
Fair point, I should've put somewhere a description how items work. Yes, you gather wood piece only from log piles, but it doesn't show in your hands automatically due to bug.
Cute and cozy game with a nice atmosphere ✨
Well done ! ❄️
I'm glad you like it!
The controls felt too floaty but the aesthetic is great. Nice job for only a few days!
Could you describe what was wrong with controls? Was the mouse sensitivity too high for you like other players wrote, or is it something different? Still, thank you for playing!
I encountered a couple of bugs, but I don't think they're that bad; the main thing is that it fits the theme. I liked the game. I'd be grateful if you'd rate my game :|
Thank you for playing! I'll try your game in spare time ^^
I look forward to your reply
Art style is definitely cozy! I especially like the walking animation, very creative!
I'm glad you enjoy art style
Very cozy game! I especially liked the overall aesthetic such as the home. I do agree with another comment that the default mouse sensitivity is a little too high. Great work!
Yea I understand now that mouse sensitivity can be a problem for more people, I'll keep this in mind next projects. I'm glad you enjoyed art!
A small and cute game. Fix a few bugs and it'll be a great project for a first jam!
Thank you for playing!
For me, the camera was moving on it's own until i unfocus the game, but i couldn't refocus the game after, letting my mouse leaving the window. The sensitivity was really high. I managed to finish the game ! The art style was pretty cool. There was some collisions issues and i saw the "Press E to ..." only in the few last tasks (maybe the trigger was a little too precise). Good job anyway !
yes I didn't think about implementing mouse refocus. Sensitivity comment is interesting, that basic speed is the one I personally use, so I'm used to it lol will try putting sensitive settings into next projects. I didn't know how to code "Press E.." comment to show properly so it feels a bit random. I'm glad you could finish game despite bugs, and Thank you for feedback!
Ooh, I really like the art! Definitely very cozy.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
First of all, the walking animation was incredibly cute, I really liked it. It's a very sweet game. I would be happy if you took a look at our game too :3
Thank you for playing! I've already tried your game, its cute too!
Cute Game! The art is really pretty! I encountered the same bugs as mentioned before but once you fix these after voting it's a solid game!
I'm glad you enjoyed it despite bugs!
Nice job with the simplistic art style, though encountered a bug where the character started holding all tools at once making it difficult to see.
Thank you for playing! I wanted to make more stylized art style, but I wouldn't fit in time. Also yea I found that bug before exporting, but I couldn't fix it without breaking other things. The workaround is pressing one of the equipping buttons. I'll add this to game's description.
Cool little game! The interact checkers were a little small so it was a little janky to clean up.
Thank you for playing! I had a little trouble with collisions' priority, but I'll spend more time on them next jams ^^
