Thanks! I'll upload it when the jam ends.

The game was definitely overscoped. The art was nice, had an old school vibe to it. Needed sounds and music. The gameplay was confusing and I ultimately just found myself running around shooting a laser at anything I could see. I think if it this was a week long jam you could've polished this up to a nice state but the way it is now is just a bit too vague. Also, not that games have to stick to this theme, but it is a cozy game jam and the helicopter-flying, ak-47 shooting 007 santa doesn't exactly fit into that lol.
All in all, it's impressive you were able to pump this much out in just a few days by yourself! I think if you polished it up after the jam and reuploaded a new version it would be a good addition to your itch page.
I just wanted to make another comment thanking everyone for playing and giving feedback. I've fixed many of the bugs and polished up the game. Once the jam is over I'll reupload the newest version to the page so it can be a clean product.
If anyone reads this and would like to play the updated version (after you rate this version for the jam) then let me know and i'll get you a link!
Things added/fixed:
Y-sorting so you appear behind objects as you should
Successful Note feedback on the song minigame with a score and accuracy rating
Preloading the forest scene so it doesn't take a long time to leave the cabin
Increased player speed so it doesn't take so long
Added a few extra visuals on areas that needed it.
Great game! I loved playing and I really cared about making my clients happy. The only thing I would've liked to have seen would have been tooltips that tell you what the items are and then a way to rotate things. I felt very limited by how I could place things and it wasn't obvious that there were floor cabinets and wall cabinets. But for such a short game jam this was great!
Also, next time try to get the game playable in browser. Most people just do not want to download files to play a game for a game jam and they usually only do it if the screenshots and the game page look really clean. You'll notice that all of the lowest rated games are all non-browser games. Which doesn't say anything bad about the game itself, it's just not as accessible and web builds are sort of the standard for game jams from what I've seen if you want a lot of people to play and rate it.
The camera choice was a bit weird with it being first person but bobbing up and down. If we're playing a snowman then snowmen don't really take steps like that, they more wiggle to the sides which still isn't the best idea. But I thought the up and down camera motion was a little out of place. Maybe I would've done a third person perspective in the hub and shift to first person during the mini games. Then you could have the snowman wiggle to the sides.
The music in the snowman shooting level didn't really fit at all. Like yes it was a fast paced song but it was like a spanish club song, not something i'd expect to hear in a cozy winter snowman game. It was still a little funny and I like that kind of music so I enjoyed it, but it didn't fit everything else lol.
Thank you! And yes you hit the nail on the head on all of the shortfalls of the game that I wish I could've fixed. The slow movement was intentional... However I was supposed to add in more things to look at and experience while you walked the paths like little critters and birds. Since none of that made it in, I should've made the player walk a bit faster.
Thanks for playing and the kind words!
Nice game! I wasn't sure if the mittens were strategically hid around the level or if they just had a chance to randomly pop up when you make a snow angel. The snow angel mini game was too fast sometimes, I liked that it was variable, but the minimum time threshold needed to be a little higher.
If the mittens do randomly spawn, then I would've liked to see them hidden around the level in certain spots maybe near terrain and markers.
Overall very nice presentation. The art/overall look was great and clean!
While I wouldn't exactly say this is a "cozy" game, it was fun! The art, animations, sounds, lighting, controls... they were all great and this style and feel could be made into a fully complete indie game that I would play. Cozy games are typically meant to be low stress, low intensity games with few or no fail states. Even though this game was the opposite of that, it was presented so well that I have to give it good ratings!
Good job to your team!
Now this is what I'm talking about. Everything about this project is great. The art and music are simple but mystical. The gameplay is simple but fun. The sounds make the game cozy. The mirror was a little confusing at first just because the first day is nothing but regular people so I was looking around for the coffee and ginger but never found it. Didn't make sense until I made it to day 2 and started seeing the tired people in the mirror.
I'm not sure what happened but at the end of day 2 the customers just stopped coming and eventually my shop was completely empty but I never had the option to close and go to day 3. But even so the experience of the first two days was nice! Very good job.
Solid game. My only feedback would be to randomize the dialogue sounds. If you wanted to keep the dialogue as it is where the whole messages loads at once, then I would just play a little blip a certain amount of times at random pitches. Hearing the same dialogue sound repeated over and over made me not want to talk to any of the npcs lol. But the game was fun! I liked the look and the gameplay was good. I liked that there was an actual goal and an ending.
Thanks for the kind words! Yes I absolutely agree with the game needing some more juice. I might revisit the project continue working on it after the jam ends.
I wanted to iterate on the music minigame to give more player feedback when hitting a correct note, also a score system and a way that you can continue to play the songs after the game ends if you want to go for 100% clears.
I also wanted to have little forest creatures like birds and rabbits that run away when you walk by and some light sources. I tried implementing some Y sorting but it wasn't working exactly the way I wanted and I didn't quite get around to applying to to everything that needed it.
Thank you again for playing!
Wow this was really good! Insane that you guys accomplished this in such a short time. It looks like it took a week. While it was a little annoying to have to constantly assign penguins to tasks, it did keep me busy and I kinda like the idea that the penguins can only stay on task for one thing before they get distracted lol. Solid game that could definitely be expanded upon after the jam.
Thanks for playing! Yeah we meant to do a lot more playtesting but unfortunately I was still coding parts of the game during the submission hour so things like that slipped by.
What happened when you left the house? I forgot to disable the area detection for the ghosts after you talk to them., I only disabled the collision shape. Whoops!
