Loved finding the clues hidden in the book and the short story. The Prince is absolutely hilarious lol
Pretty fun! the art and music really reminds me of old flash games and its quite relaxing.

Cuuuute!!! I really like how you left it a puzzle as to what the last ingredient was. The dialogue with the prince was fun, nice job with the writing! Would love to see the final game, nice work!
Fixed his hair :) Cool idea with the recipes being obscured in the book.
I love the music and the presentation of the game! I liked being able to click and drag all of the ingredients around.
Prince unfortunately got exactly what he wanted. Great title, and loved the graphics and ingredient illustrations. I wish the text scrolled faster, it made it feel like the game was lagging. Great work!
The concept is super fun and I love games like these, but I couldn't get past the hair part
Whenever I gave him the glowing potion, it changed his sprite, but the dialogue from before plays? I know it says the dialogue isn't fully implemented, but I wasn't sure if this was where it ends, or if its an unintentional bug, because it seems like there is more story, even if there might not be more dialogue.
I just couldn't get past it though, and I went through the dialogue about 4 times
The dialogue was also a bit slow, but as someone who also had dialogue pains, I get it being hell on earth lol
Still, I think having the dialogue be faster or instantly print when clicked during printing would be a nice QoL addition (unsure how easy it would be in the engine) I do know you can speed up by holding, but sometimes it doesn't work? Might be lag, or maybe I didn't notice.
Oh and it took me a while to realize I had to double click the witch book, but that's probably my bad lol, I tried to drag the book open >_<
If there is more story, please let me know what I gotta do to progress! I really want to continue if it's possible. It's just that dragging the item to them counts as interacting with them, so it plays the previous dialogue again.
If you can't continue, I guess I'll just play around with the potions, cus as I said, I really do love these kinds of games, it's neat to follow recipes and do magic, the title also got me interested right away! It's the first game I clicked on actually ^_^
I was like "Gasp! How dare the witch just LEAVE the kitty like that >:(" and I found the solution to the hair problem really clever while also being intuitive (at least for me), so that's cool!
Yay! It's fixed now in the new build ^_^ neato
Thanks so much! Yeah, we'll need to add an instant dialogue option rather than speeding up the scrolling in the future. But we were offered a bit of grace for this game jam (lost both our programmers 😭), so a completed demo version is now up if you wanna give it another shot. No more repeating dialogue! (or at least there wasn't when I play tested it)
And thanks about the potion puzzles! RollForThings on our team made all the puzzle logic and potion book layout and they are just so fun.! I wonder if you can figure out the cat's eye tincture and strength draught 👀
I got the cat's eye! The strength one got me stumped though >_<
Nice, well done! I'm happy you enjoy it!
As previously said, got a little unlucky with our programmer (Life happens!), but I'm excited to add the rest of the planned content. I hope you'll try a more polished and finished version then! ^^
Something similar happened to me too, so I get it! ^_^ Life be like that sometimes
I'd like to see the finished product ^O^ but also the kitty, poor critter! Does it have interactions with anything? (other than breaking in half D:)
Haha not yet! Wanted to make the cat rather strange and unexpected hehe. Was thinking of adding random animations like it growing a third eye or other strange things like that when you click on them. :P
I was trying to feed the cat all the potions lol! Like "oh what if the darkness one fills it in" and the note in the darkness potion made me think I maybe had to drink fire resistance ebfore making it, or perhaps I could give the kitty the cat eye potion and it's eyes would glow in the dark or something
It is an interesting little creature tho, kinda like glass
Omg that's a great idea. I'm stealing that for the final version of the game
Sure! The kitty is transparent in the middle so thats why i thought it could be filled in with specific potions lol
the "how to draw manga" prince is a fun choice and having all the placeholders wiggle gives them a certain charme. Accidentally touching ingredients while mixing potions and flinging them at high speed in the cauldron happened a few times, which meant I had to start over, but the physics system making them bounce around and the text being displayed several times was funny, so it's no big deal.
I ran into repeated dialogue though that played the one for the unlock potion from the firstone on the second interaction with the glowing potion, which would have made a "skip/speed up text" button very handy . (Jep, I'm stuck. Can't get past this conversation). Also it ramped up my GPU to 100%, which is not so cool.
Thanks so much for playing! Yeah, had a bit of a bug there with the repeated long dialogue, but should be all fixed now!
Glad you got the art style reference for the prince! It was really fun to draw! Blast from the past!
Sorry about the GPU ramp up! Not sure why that happened 😅
