Very fun game, a bit confusing at first but once I played it a couple of times I got the hang of it!

I used to enjoy playing mastermind when I was young so when I figured out what I had to do in this game, it gave me a swift kick of nostalgia. This is a good implementation and a fun game that goes to different places. A little extra clue-ing in the UI would help it a bit. I'm not sure I would have figured that out from trial and error with the game, at least not in the 20-second format. If this was dropped into a bigger game as a puzzle to keep coming back to, maybe I would have figured out that only the first row changes and pushed down the previous attempts, and that the puzzle resets after each success. If you plan on expanding it, I'll be here to play it!

Thanks so much!  Mastermind was definitely the inspiration, I just wanted it to be a little easier than that.  Then someone suggested the more-switches-with-each-correct-guess mechanic, and I went with it.

The UI definitely needs some more prompting, if nothing else the button needs some text.

I do plan to pull it out to a larger game eventually, if so I'll drop a link!

It's fun trying to understand how this work. I have managed to unlock five buttons so far but I haven't beaten the game yet.

I will definitely come back to it, but I had a question for you: is the combination changing when a new button gets added? For instance, if the first button should be up, is that position going to be the same when the second button gets added?

Anyways, it's an interesting puzzle. Thanks for designing it!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I've only had a couple of people get past 5 so far, so congratulations on that!

When you get a sequence correct, the game adds a new switch and then generates a new sequence.  Otherwise every guess would just be solving 1 switch, which would actually be a pretty cool game mode, so I may add that once I fix the UI issues with more than 5 switches.

Super fun and challenging game! I had some trouble figuring out the task at hand, but things started to come together with each subsequent playthrough. A play button would complete this project, as I had to refresh the page to play again. You did a really great job overall! :)

Thanks for the feedback!   I've added a "Restart" button, and I should definitely either create a "how to play" screen, or add some documentation.

It's a bit hard to understand what to do and how to beat the game. I assume the goal is to light up all the lights, but some pointers on how to do that would be nice. But if you were to add a short explanation on the game page I think that would go a long way. Definitely looks like an interesting game, though!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

There are a few things I need to do still:

  • Replay/Restart button - Now working!
  • Instructions or a How-To-Play screen
  • Finish the countdown  graphics.

can you drop some instructions on the page in the meantime?

Developer

Can do, and done.

Interesting concept. It's quite hard to understand how exactly the buttons work at first. A replay button would also be extremely helpful. Good job so far tho!

Thank you for the feedback!

I've added a Restart/Replay button, and should maybe change the other button to be a little more obvious.
