Thanks so much!  Mastermind was definitely the inspiration, I just wanted it to be a little easier than that.  Then someone suggested the more-switches-with-each-correct-guess mechanic, and I went with it.

The UI definitely needs some more prompting, if nothing else the button needs some text.

I do plan to pull it out to a larger game eventually, if so I'll drop a link!

I'm glad you like it. Hopefully you find it useful.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I've only had a couple of people get past 5 so far, so congratulations on that!

When you get a sequence correct, the game adds a new switch and then generates a new sequence.  Otherwise every guess would just be solving 1 switch, which would actually be a pretty cool game mode, so I may add that once I fix the UI issues with more than 5 switches.

Can do, and done.

Well that was interesting.   Normally I'm very much in favor of scanlines, but on my laptop they were a little distracting.

That said, I played this about 10 times, so clearly I'm in favor of it.

A bit tricky to control with a trackpoint mouse, but an interesting game!

Oh, this was fun!

Thank you for the feedback!

I've added a Restart/Replay button, and should maybe change the other button to be a little more obvious.

Thanks for playing!

There are a few things I need to do still:

  • Replay/Restart button - Now working!
  • Instructions or a How-To-Play screen
  • Finish the countdown  graphics.

Thanks for the feedback!   I've added a "Restart" button, and I should definitely either create a "how to play" screen, or add some documentation.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I did consider having the planets move around the sun, and having a couple circles identifying the inner and outer edges of the golidlocks zone.   I was just too lazy to put in the work.  You're right that it would improve the visual impact and clarity of what's happening though.

Thank you for playing!  I'll go update the page with a little more detail on the controls and the planets.

When the star has been relatively stable (consistently yellow) for 10 seconds, the 3 planets will form. As the star grows or shrinks, the planets transition between molten/lava (red), life-supporting (blue and green) or frozen (white).    There are very narrow ranges where 2 life-supporting planets are possible, and when the score ticks up every half second, each life supporting planet is work 10 bonus points.

Thank you for playing!

It actually checks for key pressed or held, so you can hold and release space instead of trying to tap every frame.  That can grow the star too far very quickly though.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback.

If you hold the sun  in the yellow range for 10 seconds, some planets will form and will start giving you bonus points, but that's the only other gameplay beyond watching the circle change size.

I haven't unlocked any additional planets, but this was a fun cart to play!

Thank you for playing and for your feedback.

You're absolutely right that there's really no further gameplay to be had after the planets form, they just provide bonus points based on what state they're in.

Thanks for playing and for the comment!

There should be a score that ticks up every half second based on star size and number of planets in their Goldilocks phase.    I'll review it again to make sure that's enabled on all published versions

Thanks for the bug report!  I thought I had that one solved, and I'll take another look.

This is a fun little game, I definitely recommend people give it a play and sink a few minutes into it.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this was definitely it.

A simple and intriguing game.  I'll admit that I didn't finish the game (the typing errors levels were just frustrating enough that I gave up), but it was still a fun few minutes of play time!

Really cute game and story.  The mini-games (?) were all really easy to pick up and easy enough to enjoy.  In the storyless mode it would be nice if the player could move a little more quickly, but I can see that movement speed is useful to control when hiding from the manager.

This was a cute game, the mouse and the background were quite appealing.
Something about the way the surface moves when you jump is really off-putting for me, if there's some way to disable that I'd be more inclined to play a few more rounds.

Frantic motion and engaging gameplay.  Does the post-teleport blue indicate a temporary anti-hog ability?  If so, is there some way to extend it (like the ghost-eating ability from pac-man)?  I think a simple title image would help engagement too.

I enjoyed this game!

This was a really cute game; adding unique descriptions for so many objects was a nice touch.

Thank you.  It was fun to implement.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Outstanding!

Very cool!   That's a lot of functionality to cram into so little space.

I enjoyed this game, though I agree with the other comment on better hinting about the length of the day.  As far as mechanics go, the controls are simple and effective, and the gameplay itself was a good way to spend a few minutes in between other tasks.
