How does your game incorporate the theme Transport?
Delivery Berrie is a "race-against-the-clock" 2D platformer that has you delivering and transporting a package of food (and transporting yourself) with Berrie, a courier berry, to Berrie's hometown, while dodging numerous traps and enemies on a 1:30.00 timer.

It's a simple platformer but I had a fun time with it!

I was a bit disappointed to see that the delivery part was only contextualization and didn't really feature more prominently as a game mechanic.

Overall the level design is alright but there's a few sections that have close to leap of faiths that I would recommend avoiding especially in a game that's intended to be played fast as being unsure if you can even make a jump will most likely make the player have to take their time.

I think the objective of playing through the game fast and the fact the game is pretty challenging kind of goes against each other a bit, it's not that you can't combine them but it does make the game less accessible as a result. I was able to get an all coins complete within 14 deaths so it wasn't a major problem for me but I can see it being frustrating for less skilled players.

Hi kiddforce! Very glad you enjoyed Delivery Berrie! Yeah, I'm going to be completely honest with you (and pretty much everyone else in this jam), I added way too many bottomless pits in this game, and to really ease the player in, I added in a small practice area to have the player get used to the controls and feel of the game. Also, while playtesting this game, there was a lot of instances to where I was forced to take my time, and also, I really designed this game for the player to make the least amount of mistakes, but now I realize that there's a lot of people who are inexperienced with the platforming genre, and also, I'm not trying to get all defensive about my game, but the game really has you transporting over a package of food over to Berrie's hometown, and also, I originally was going to include a moving truck section, but I scrapped that at the last minute and replaced it with a tricky platforming section with Flappies. I'll be very sure to take this into account whenever I'm making another 2D platformer for a game jam. Extremely glad you had a lot of fun with Delivery Berrie, nonetheless!!! 🎮🕹📦

Sound and art were great! The platforming was difficult for me, but that's on me tbh :D
I'm not good with platformers at all. Especially with the timer I realized early on that I can't finish this game :D
Enjoyed my time with it none the less. Great work!

Very engaging platformer! I could have imagined maybe the fact you're carrying fruits could have been more of a mechanic but at the end of the day it wasn't relaly needed, the platforming was both challenging and fun.

One thing I would suggest in the future with camera control is to either dampen the vertical movement or only follow the player vertically when grounded, as there were a couple jumps down where I couldn't see where I would land.

Nice work!

It's GOOD! I wish I could finish it :( it's kinda hard xD

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I actually didn't know it was going to be this hard when I playtested the game. Also, if you're able to post in the MashUp Game Jam 2025, I didn't know you joined! Congratulations on doing so! Also, what would you rate this game outside of the jam? I'm fine with a 1-3 star rating, because what really matters is that I participated in another jam.

I would do 4 xD

and sorry I didn't joined xD

Nice game! I really appreciate the controller support, the squash-and-stretch animations, and the cute pixel art. It feels more on the hardcore side than fast-paced to me, the movement is a bit slow, and while I like the art style, it's inconsistent with the background. Still, it’s a solid game overall. Great work, and keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Hi M1chaelDev! The parallax background was something I originally wanted to make on my own, but since drawing every layer was going to take me like another day or two, I ended up resorting to GrafxKid’s Seasonal Tilesets Grassland background parts, and the art style is something I wanted to make entirely by myself. It’s just that the parallax background was pre-made instead of my own. While playtesting the game, I died a few times in the game, and since the game was a bit hardcore in my opinion (Though not as hardcore as Owlet and the Biscuit Tower), I added a dedicated death counter so that it can keep track on how many deaths you’ve taken. Oh, and if the movement was too slow for you, I added a dedicated run button for the game, and trust me, you’re gonna need it.

Very glad that you even played my game, rated it, and commented on it! ❤️🎮📦

Also, how many deaths have you gotten? Just wanted to know!

Submitted(+1)

Oh I didn't know that there was a run button lol. I totally understand not having enough time to make a parallax background and resorting to a premade asset instead. If anything, the game would have looked worse without a background at all.

I didn't finish the game because it was too hard so I can't give you a death count, but now that I know that I can run, I'll definitely give it another go and tell you my score ^^

A pretty fun and well polished game! Managed to beat it with all coins collected! The art is pretty solid and charming too! A minor suggestion might be to reduce the number of “leap of faith” segments in the level such as the first drop with the buzz saw looking enemy, especially if you’re gonna put pits and enemies around. Overall, a really good game!

I really tried to complete the level but once i saw those birds i knew i was done, doing the entire level in one go is already a challenge and the time constraint multiplies that challenge, despite the looks it's quite hardcore, had a lot of fun tho, i know it might be against the idea you had for the game but i feel like some checkpoints like celeste and a faster game over might make the game flow faster, still a very nice game.

Developer(+1)

Hey Anfi! Glad that you enjoyed my game! Yeah, I really designed this game to be less challenging than my previous game jam entry, Owlet and the Biscuit Tower, as to where playtesting in that game, I died countless times, and I really made Delivery Berrie less of a challenge because I introduced a small area between the boat and the grass as a little practice area for people to learn and get used to the controls before the challenge. Also, during development of the game, at one point I decided to add a checkpoint halfway through the game before players get to the factory section, but then I decided that adding a checkpoint in the game will ruin the fast-paced ness of the game, since you’re really rushing to the end in one go. Also, the controls are listed at the bottom, and the game will gradually get more difficult as you move on. Oh, and I was also going to add a moving truck section, to where Berrie gets on a moving truck and dodges homecoming missiles, but not only was that too ambitious, but that would probably be too much considering some people might not be good at platformers. So, I scrapped the truck idea and decided to add numerous birds (They’re called Flappies, by the way) near the end of the game, and platforms for players who need to time their jumps correctly. So yeah, it may be more difficult for you, but for me, it’s WAY easier than Owlet and the Biscuit Tower.

Still, I’m very much glad you enjoyed Delivery Berrie, and still called it a very nice game! ❤️❤️❤️

Pretty nice game man, I really liked it and spent some minutes trying to complete it (I didn't, but at least I tried), I would just suggest you to add some controls screen or at least a tutorial, for the ones that are not used with this type of game, I just figured out about the sprint mechanic after some minutes trying to complete the level, maybe it was a design choice, but just saying... after all pretty fun game

Developer

Hey gustavo-flor! The keyboard controls are listed at the bottom of the description, and for the run button, you basically have to use it if you even want to make it at the very end to the level. Oh, and at the practice section at the very start of the game, once players figure out the controls, they can experiment it and practice before they cross the starting line. Glad you enjoyed my game, nonetheless! 📦📦🫐🫐❤️❤️🎮

Pretty good game. I like the fast paced-ness and racing against time. I got stuck after the saw because I couldn't make that extra jump, so if I was to suggest a change, either change that section of the level or make the character accelerate faster. I like the art styke and even small things like how enemies launch you high up.

Developer(+1)

Hi Powerfist! Just wanted to ask, are you talking about the sawblade at the start of the game or in the factory section? Because if you’re talking about the factory section with the saw, here’s a little trick to get past that section. You have to wait for the blue moving propeller platform to get close to Berrie, while also waiting for the saw to go up, so that it is safe to cross. For the saw in the starting grass section, all you have to do is wait for the sawblade to go all the way down, and then jump over it. Two tricks I showed you in case you want to play this game. BTW, thank you so much for playing my game, Powerfist! Really appreciate the feedback!!! ❤️🎮🫐📦

pretty fun game! pretty simple speedrunning platformer but well executed, I thought the art was pretty cool too, well done

Developer

Thanks ThrownMoth! I actually did most of the art in Piskel, making this the first ever game where I utilized my own assets from scratch. The only pixel art asset that I didn’t make myself was the parallax background from GrafxKid’s Seasonal Tilesets asset pack.

This was really fun! I struggled until I found out I could run, but that's on me for not reading the instructions on how to play before playing, lol

Submitted(+1)

Good game! though the difference in pixel sizes was a bit rough, but other than that great game!

The game was very fun! I don't really play platformers very often and is was a bit of a challenge. I would appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on my game :)
