Nice, cool to see you expand on your ideas from the last jam :)

I like that the game doesn't penalize the player explicitly, so they can either choose to hoard the seeds for themselves, or feed seeds to the "monsters".  Would be interesting to see the game evolve depending on the choices made, as you've mentioned.

Really enjoyed the mask decorating + customization via the mirror too, super unique and cohesive art!

thanks for dropping by again Saethodil! Indeed, game jams are a good excuse a) to invest time for a deadline to actually make things, b) to evolve my game in ways dictated by the wildcards :)

Hope the masks worked as intended to have perks for different playstyles but oh well, maybe the next jam will help.

I never know what i'm doing, but boy do i love hitting the satisfying af buttons and seeing what mad stuff happens!

Sick artwork as always.

This was really cute - I loved the creature designs!  I was confused about what I was supposed to do though. I couldn’t tell if I was meant to feed and befriend them, or hide from them and keep the food for myself. Being able to close the shutters and board up the windows made me think it might be the latter? Either way, very charming game and I especially loved the little bat guy even though he freaked me out at first.

This was the mask I made for myself!

I loved the art and the mechanics feel really polished, but, agreed with other comments that an onboarding would be nice, for most of the time, I was just clicking stuff around without knowing what I was doing.
Besides that, great work! Keep it up!

Wish there was a bit more onboarding was very lost for quite a bit. Really great art and music though. Also boarding the window was really cool and primal feeling. Great work!

thanks for giving it a go Nemo! I wish there was more guidance as well...

Do listen more to the artist! I love his work!

The art is super cool and polished, but I had no idea what I was doing, or what the goal was, or what I had to do with the shutters (close them of feed the monster?) or how the masks defended me from the monsters, there was also no UI to indicate me anything really, no quick tutorial, I wish I could play it properly because it does look like a fun game loop, I just don't understand it :-(

If you tell me how to play it I'll gladly give it another go and rate it, so I'm not giving a bad rating just because I don't understand it. Let me know!

Developer

very kind of you Wired Pixels! thanks for the detailed comment:

You can close the shutters to kick the creatures away. (I think yuo need to close both for this to happen)

You are right it, has not much of a guidance its a bit of a mess really :_)
My idea was: you gather seeds, you offer the seeds to the creatures, they give you perks, that you use to align with other creatures (e.g., "feather" creatures) and avoid other types of creatures ("fur" creatures)

Please feel free to rate it as it is incomplete unfortunately hehe

Nice art but couldn’t figure out how to actually make masks. I suggest you add some quick tutorial in the description so people have an easier time playing and thus reviewing it

Developer

Thanks for giving it a go Olly! you click the mirror and mess around there to see how your face looks :)
100%! I should have done that with the tutorial!

Unique game, I really liked the style and the animations were perfect, made everything feel really nice. The mask designer was a really unique touch. Good work!

haha thanks for playing! Hoped the masks could actually provide benefits to your playstyle but... maybe the next jam hehe
