Hooray! I escaped! 😄
Nice job! I especially liked the art style.  I played the web version and it worked fine.

Ideas for Improvements:
I would like to be able to take the gas mask on & off.
It plays scary drum music when the monster starts chasing me.  That music should stop after i get past the door, evading the monster.   (it got repetitive.)

Loved the atmosphere also.  I was happy to find the mask and key.  I was afraid for my life and really did almost jump out of my seat at that point.  Well done.  I submitted my 'scream' game to the Scream Jam, but in this jam I submitted a platformer.  Here's a link to both.  Good job here, it gave me some ideas for implementing a mask or glasses or something like it for a future idea of mine perhaps.

I love the atmosphere! The moment I got the key and that thing started chasing me was really good hahaha. I still don’t understand what the gas mask was for, but I escaped, so I’m happy with it! :D Nicely done!

It's a tense short horror game in PSX style. Well, I escaped, not asking how I could pass those narrow alleys before with a car! But they conveyed a claustrophobic mood. Unclear what the giant creature was and what it was doing there. More unclear why I was wearing this mask. And completely unclear where the connection to an old TV was.

But... solid horror, down to the flickering lights and the sound effects.

Good job creating a creepy claustrophobic feeling. You definitely crafted a vibe. The music and sound effects were subtle until the jump scare and then heart pounding.

I stopped playing because I literally couldn't turn around to run. Since the mouse pointer wasn't captured in full screen and I have four monitors, my mouse kept sliding off to the left and right and I literally could not turn around. I could slowly pick up my mouse and get around that way. So the jump scare was the central part of my gaming experience.

Overall, well-crafted creepy experience.

The concept is really intriguing, and I like how the mechanics tie into the horror theme—it creates a tense, immersive experience. That said, I found some parts a bit confusing, especially understanding the core objective without trial and error. Polishing the instructions or giving clearer feedback to the player would make it much more approachable. Overall, a solid jam entry with a lot of potential. If you have a moment, I’d love for you to check out and rate my Halloween jam game too: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

I quite enjoyed that it was a relief the horrific guy following me around turned out to be friendly.

The bit I found most unnecessary was the number by the item in the UI, this didnt really make sense to me. That said was the UI necessary at all? You can see the mask when you put it on and when you find the key if there is a jingle and maybe a flash or particles would have been enough.

Just giving a little feedback I enjoyed the game and played till I escaped :) The music was good an I liked how crushing it got but when You get through the door could pull back a little.

Most of it already been said in previous comments, I love the atmosphere and  visuals, I think i needed to wander a bit to much which became a bit tedious. Also kind of miss the connection to the jam but i guess you focused more on the Screamjam?

Also to pointers which are not super bad but i just noticed

1) I can always run,  if there is no stamina or anything else stopping you there is basically no reason not to run, maybe i did not go far enough in the game to see there is also a punishment to running

2) For me at least all the doors where black, not sure if that is a aesthetic choice but for me it broke the immersion because the other textures where well done

none the less  well done game good job

Here;s my playthrough

I got lost and stuck :D

I'm not a horror fan myself, but this did well at ticking the horror game boxes :)
Great job putting this together for a Jam!

Eye catching icon, mostly good sound design and trendy visuals.

Few bitter points:

  • For some reason the camera was locked for the rotation to the right at some places. Possible there are hidden colliders or something like that.
  • The corridors are super narrow and once you face the entity it is almost impossible to pass them, they are just blocking you. Consider adjusting the colliders of the entities.
  • It takes a lot of wandering around to find the key, and well, while the atmosphere is tense, it may become a bit boring. Consider making smaller levels.
