Hi everyone!

I made this small psychological horror game by myself called "Distorted Messages" for the jam. It’s my first completed project in Unity (Although I actually call it a prototype since I haven't been able to add everything I wanted to do), so I’m still learning a lot about programming and design.

The idea was to create a tense atmosphere where “The Witness” (an entity that never attacks, only observes) slowly makes the player feel watched and uneasy.

It’s definitely rough around the edges, but I’d really appreciate any constructive feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what could make the experience more effective.

Thanks in advance to anyone who tries it out every comment helps me improve!  You are not obligated to give me a rating, I am actually looking for advice and feedback.

If you want me to try your games, you can send me the link in the comments and I'll do my best to play and rate them (If you want to). If you’re also new to game development, you’re more than welcome to post your project here!

Thanks in advance!

Well, I think I did talk too much. I just want to get better since I was completely alone in this one and with barely any experience. It was kinda hard. By the way, I´ll be posting a review for your game soon.

Hey there!

My friend and I are also very new to game development, though we do have a background in 3D modeling. I also think our game is a bit rough around the edges, but we’re all just learning here. We tried to push for a unique aesthetic in the short time we had, and I think we managed to do that to some extent. I’ll check out your game soon, and I’ll be completely honest in my review.

Hi I'm also new to game development and the game we put together for this jam is my first game! Our team's programmer did already have one under their belt, but I'd still love some feedback!

Our game is fairly dark and on the longer side, so I've been telling everyone to mind the content warnings and I understand if it's not for everybody!

I'll definitely be checking your game out as well!

Alright! I just played yours and it is fantastic! I just left feedback and rated it. I don't want to be negative, but my game is way behind yours in every way😅. How long have you been developing games?

Submitted

hi’ im not back home yet so I can’t really try yours yet, but I’ll try it as soon as I get back home. And for how long I’ve made games, I’d say less than 7 years, but I studied game design, and I also analyzed a lot on how games are made, why they do this or that. What you can do after the jams end, is reflect on your want to check similar references on YouTube. And then next jam try to work certain points

Submitted

Ok, thanks for the advice! I´ll keep that in mind for sure. And since you have less than 7 years of experience...well, it explains why your game has such a great quality.

Hi! Here's my game. I hope you enjoy it!
