Thank you so much for the kind words. I actually fixed the bug from level 3. I am waiting to see if anyone else comes up with ideas for polishing before I release the updated version. I am actually going to include 2 more levels I was not able to finish.

This is an amazing start for something bigger. I love the fact that you wrote funny lines to let the players know what was not finished yet. I did not expect to find a RPG on this Jam list. Definitely keep me posted on any updates for this game. You have certainly deserved my follow.

Looking at this error, it looks like a Windows extraction issue. I think the .exe inside the ZIP is being blocked or flagged during extraction. I could come up with some possible solutions for you to try and if none of them work then let me know and I will try to get to the bottom of this. Here are some possible causes and solutions:

1. Windows SmartScreen or Defender Blocking

Windows may flag .exe files in ZIPs downloaded from the internet as unsafe. Fix:

• Right-click the ZIP file → Properties → at the bottom, check “Unblock” (if it’s there) → Apply.

• Then try extracting again.

• If still blocked, extract using 7-Zip or WinRAR instead of the default Windows extractor.

2. Corrupted ZIP Archive

The download may have been incomplete or corrupted. Fix:

• Re-upload or re-download the ZIP file.

• Try extracting it on another computer to confirm whether the issue persists.

• Use a different compression tool (like 7-Zip) to re-compress your build before sharing.

3. File Path or Permissions Issue

Windows can fail if the ZIP is in a restricted or long path directory. Fix:

• Move the ZIP to a simple location like C:\Games\ or your Desktop.

• Right-click → “Extract All…” again.

• Make sure you’re not extracting into a protected folder (like C:\Program Files).

4. Antivirus or Controlled Folder Access

Antivirus programs (especially Windows Defender or BitDefender) can block .exe extraction silently. Fix:

• Temporarily disable real-time protection (if safe).

• Or add the ZIP/extraction folder to the “Allowed” list in Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Ransomware protection → Allow an app through Controlled folder access.

5. File System Issues

Occasionally, Windows has permission issues with the default temp folder. Fix:

• Try running File Explorer as Administrator before extracting.

• Or manually extract using PowerShell:

  Expand-Archive -Path "C:\Path\To\Your.zip" -DestinationPath "C:\Games\YourGame"

I think that is the problem, when I submitted my game I did not think about localizing it for players outside the country. I think I will have to go go back and repackage the game so every one is able to play it. I will do that tomorrow. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

It's all good, I am glad you gave it a chance. Don't worry about that crash for the final release because I will not sleep, eat, or breath until I figure out what is wrong with that stage.

I think you did a good job. I did notice some weird collision detection (like walking through a drawer or hitting an invisible wall in the bathrooms) and the art style could use some work, but overall this was a decent little horror walking simulator.

Very well done. I think this will be really cool when you get the twitch streamers involved with the gameplay. I have no complaints. I wish I could come up with something constructive but the gameplay and sound track were solid. Great job.

I really dig the art style on this one. The game looks and sounds great. It was a lot of fun to play. If you continue forward with this game I would add more levels with different objectives. Either that or make the timer go faster because the game felt too easy. Adding different challenges would bring more variety and would spice up the gameplay. Other than that though, fantastic job.
