How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The game takes place in a world where (VERY UNLUCKILY) a giant mirror has smashed and you (in theory) have to pick up the pieces. I have also been incredibly ill for specifically the jam period which is also pretty unlucky!

It's not much, but what's there is really nice. Dark souls on GameBoy, but with much more uplifting music.

You have the foundation for a really cool game that feels like it would be RIGHT at home in the GB era. I was honestly kinda blown away when I started playing the game with how well you nailed the aesthetic. Especially the way you drew levels and how the grass looked!I think you were also going in the right direction with the upgrades you had setup. I was just thinking, "Oh, I kinda wished I could move faster," and then boom the roll was kinda exactly what I was hoping for. Really promising game design instincts :)

I was looking forward this then the next screen says ran out of time. Promising work so far, Did you make the music yourself?

Really nailed the theme interpretation for the jam!

Although unfinished, the idea is pretty clear and I think is a great one
Interested to see where this is going, cheers!

This is great!  Too bad you were unable to finish it's a great collection of mechanics, enemy types, music - I want to play more, well done!

It's nuts, but my game is also a zelda like about retrieving broken mirror shards, and you managed to implement a lot of mechanics that were on my wish list if I'd had more time :)

Love the world you've started building here. Although it ultimately goes action adventure, that first scene had me thinking I might be starting an epic JRPG.

A shame you couldn’t add more, it’s really promising, and setting aside the hitbox slightly too big that made me fall more often than not into holes, it’s a pretty good recreation of the main gameplay of Link’s Awakening!! Tiles & enemies are really well made and in this spirit

great job!!

For what you have done I think you did a good job. The stamina system was a unique take I haven't seen in a top down zelda like game. And it felt exactly like a Gameboy game.

The game feels like a real Game Boy game and is extremely fun to play.

You've captured that gameboy soul very well! Really like the music. Amazing that you managed to this by yourself! This is a very hard genre for a game jam (I should know) so congrats on getting as far as you did!

Cheers!

The graphics and soundtrack immersed me in the GB universe!

Really enjoyed the GB mood ! The graphics and the music are cool and on point with the console. You have a solid basis to expand and make a cool adventure, I hope you'll continue !

Love me a classic adventure RPG! I dig the stamina system. I'd say adding a quick text box when you get a new ability showing how to use it would be my only critique. Solid foundation though, hope you keep adding to it at some point!
