Game is a lot of fun. A couple of minor hiccups here and there, like the 10,000k typo and barely readable tutorial text.

Got a really weird bug on 00:18:32 - game got really laggy and said "workplace destroyed" - I think that might have been a physics bug.

Overall - a fantastic demo, totally-not-amazon office is great. Kinda sad that the security bot didn't zap me.

Do you plan to add more props to the levels?

>Do you plan to add more props to the levels?

yes, i had very little time to put the level together it will be very detailed and loaded with interactive props next time. it will have a wanted star style system where enemies get progressively more difficult as you destroy an area for the property damage mode. i'll probably have a sandbox mode for people that just want to mess around.

it was probably the door's, they're not super stable yet as i didn't have time to fully set up their destruction fragments.

thanks for the LP im glad you enjoyed it, i have huge plans for the game, next time it will be much more polished and fleshed out.

I can see the idea. Blocking takes some time to get used to, but hitting is smooth, and grabbing has a lot of fun. You really have to scrape the office building to get that 10k out of it, and I am not sure yet what it will be like when you have proper opposition. Good luck!

Maybe you'll see something else on footage too

i really wanted to get proper enemies in the game but i simply didn't have time. i have a much fancier biped combat rigs in the works next time for sure there will be real combat and enemies that can kill you easily, thanks for the lp

character turning uncontrollably from left to right at all times. my pc was midrange 10 years ago so the framerate i'm getting is very low. thankfully i can set the fps to 60 in the options. uncontrollable character swinging intensifies. maybe next time.

Developer

could you possibly record this? i dont think i've enountered this bug

i'm on it

im going to do a big optimization pass soon, i'll be adding graphics options and doing anything i can to boost performance.

Mouse kept moving off to the other screen, need to confine the cursor. I wish there was a free mode that didn't end the level at just $10k.

I found the whole middle-mouse rotation thing really confusing, but I think it's just the tutorial being told mostly through text instead of just making you do the thing, so I figure it'll get better as you iterate on the tutorial. Everything's really satisfying, but the current levels are pretty much tech demos, so I'd like to see what else you can come up with in the level design in future.

Accelerating and dragging the bat horizontally across a table has got to be my favourite thing to do in this game. I want to see a fancy ultra-long dinner table with all sorts of plates and glasses on it just for this.

Developer(+1)

there's going to be sub-missions that are unlocked after you complete the main property destruction mode, with specific objectives. lots of mini games, unlockable characters and other things i intend to do with the setting

Cute stress reliever, to ssay the least. I don't know why but receptionist desk has $7000+ equipment and other desks have stuff for like $500? Immersion broken!

Very nice sound effects of broken glass and equipment getting destroyed. I think the office looks a little too plain, but I bet modelling high quality assets takes a lot of time, especially when they have to break real nice.

I'm wondering where will you take this project, are you planning to implemet human enemies or only bots and furniture will get their bashing?

Developer

there's going to be a bot arena, with a  huge variety of enemies like boston dynamics dogs, drones, 4 armed swordsmen anything i can think of really. there will be the main "kludge mode" per environment and then after you complete that the there will be smaller side objective in the same evironment and a bunch of mini games. the property damage will be used to unlock additional playable characters and cosmetics.
humans were planned originally but their addition would make the tone quite a bit darker then was planned

Music volume started at 0 for me which might be a slip up. The term Tutorial could be called the Training Course or the New Hire Program so sound like an in-universe place.

1st level has this wall clip that's around the start.

Developer

yea the music default messes up sometimes im fixing it, ill be pushing a new build in about an hour that addresses a lot of issues

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Fun game! Bashing things with the bat feels super intuitive. I also laughed when one of the bots committed suicide in the office level. He just took charge and jumped out of the window. I don't know if it was intentional, but it was hilarious

Only issue I had was that the game doesn't have a framerate  limiter and my GPU was about to fly away.

Kinda slow in 4k on rtx3060 - any chance for DLSS?

Developer(+1)

i'll look into it, im using 2021 unity

- IDK why my mouse is disconnected from the window.  This is pretty awkward

- Experienced weird crash back to main menu

- Kek'd at the bot reciting navy seal's pasta

Post game notes

Yeah it's super fun smashing shit up.  My only big issue was the mouse disconnection, which would cause the game to pause when I clicked out of the window.  Other then that, it's great.  The controls were fun, and it's hilarious smashing shit and flinging yourself into shit.

I can't wait to see what this turns into, combat and stuff like that will be really interesting!

the crash back the menu in the beggining was intentional its a skip tutorial path,  im curious did you turn the music down or was it disabled by default? i thought i set it to 50% at the start. i'll look into the mouse disconnection issue this is my first time seeing this problem. thanks for the vid, im glad you had fun!

Developer(+1)

i fixed the mouse issue i forgot to remove a mouse unhiding debug key, it was probably triggered.

Keeps getting more fun. Office level is a nice addition.

Not sure how much of this you already know about, but i'll just list a bunch of random bugs i found in case it's helpful. The grabby arm glitches out quite easily and gets stuck fully extended.  On the office level, i can see the door handles through walls, across the map. The level of detail transition on this level looks bad and is very noticeable on the office walls. Some of the the cubicle folder shelves don't fall even when you break the objects supporting them, but seemingly only happens if you break the supporting parts by exploding a nearby bot. The player bot dies if you fall out of a tall window, but throwing enemy bots out they seem to survive it undamaged and you don't get destruction credit. I managed to get onto the floor below, but it didn't let me stand up there, i'm guessing the floor there is invalid somehow.

Some suggestions: I jumped into a rotating ceiling fan after messing up my bat swing and was disappointed i didn't take damage from it. The middle mouse button flop bind might work better as a "hold to flop" button that resets on releasing it, not sure but that was my first thought trying it. I badly want to turn off the motion blur and chromatic aberration. I wish the spin on X had more of a feeling of momentum, like maybe you press X and it starts accelerating and spinning faster over time, instead of going right to the top spin speed and stopping. Maybe impart a damage bonus in proportion with the spin speed.

There may be a good design reason not to, but i did have a thought that different swing damage kind of like how mount and blade works might be nice, i may be wrong but it feels like more momentum in the swing imparts more force but not more "damage" in general.

Keep up the devvin, it's good.

Developer

i only had about 2 hours to set up the office proper most of my dev time was spent fixing bugs, it missing quite a lot of the features i had planned.  i disabled damage to the player on that level. im getting a lot of bug reports about the menu it was also pretty rushed, i'll try to  fix it and also add a slider for the blur and chroma hopefully tomorow, thanks for playing again im glad you enjoyed it!

Easily the most fun game I've played so far. Very satisfying physics
The tutorial blurbs need cleaning up, but nothing you probably didn't already know.
Roto spinning or whatever feels strange... Could probably be idiot-proofed a little or just made an incidental mechanic rather than a central one
Anyway, this game rules... You got a hit on your hands.
