A neat little romp, I'm impressed you got a level of this size done for a jam project. Chasing the mice reminds me a lot of Ape Escape, though those things are *way* faster than me so I usually got them with ambush tactics (managed to get all the golden screws but couldn't figure out their use, same with the lightning rods you can activate with E).
This is amazing, not only is the area huge but there's so much to it, I was constantly finding new areas and hazards. The way all the bits and pieces get knocked around is very satisfying too. And you've created a very cute mascot character, long live NyanoVac!
Appreciate the kind words!!
That was fun! The whole atmosphere was very chaotic which matched the experience of trying to control the roomba cat. The flames vfx and all the moving hazards looked awesome, as did the UI (well, except for the giant help box). Great job on the environment art! The only thing I would change would be the lighting as the lack of shadows was pretty uncanny.
I think the character physics might need some more tweaks to feel right though. Flailing around the map is fun, but trying to move precisely on small platforms, or trying to stop in time to avoid the fire felt really difficult. The first few times you fall off a platform because of the wonky physics is pretty funny, but eventually it starts to get frustrating.
Thanks so much for the feedback!
Nice work, haven't finished it yet but could see there's a lot of great stuff here.
Much appreciated!
Wow this game has a ton of character! The environment is so lively and packed full of stuff. The physics, camera and UI are all a bit janky but the overall experience was a blast! One of my favorites so far.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed yourself.
I thought it was fun, the movement is cool and I like the roomba models. I do have a couple of complaints though. Some of the mechanical SFX are very loud to the point where the music and other sounds aren't really audible. The text boxes warning about hazards are also massive and block you from actually seeing anything in front of you while they're visible.
It is neat though, quite a unique entry.
So I had to play the WebGL version, as the downloadable version's mouse sensitivity was extremely low to the point of being unplayable. A shame, because I could see that the lighting is much nicer in that version, and it had a better framerate. If you're debugging the sensitivity issue, I'd actually start there, as there's a good chance that it's framerate bound.
The game itself gives me old school 3d platformer vibes. Though, I'd like a little more traction, as some areas required precise handling, and it was difficult at times to get the Roomba to go where I wanted it to go.
But still, a solid game and other than that issue with the mouse sensitivity I didn't find any bugs.
Also, your level is friggen huge! It got a good chunk of time out of me exploring it all, so well done 😁
Thanks so much for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game.
Fun little Roomba adventure :p
It was cool zooming around as a roomba car chasing these mice around, though i gotta say i only managed to cath 2 and then i wandered a bit lost trying to see where the others were, that map is quite big for a jam game :o
The reset button is a nice feature to have cause i ended up stuck in some of the level geometry at times cause the physics goes a bit wild at times especially when you gain a bit of speed.
Overall fun little entry, good job :)
Much appreciated!
