Great music and graphics! The controls take some time getting used to, but once you get the hang of them, the game is surprisingly fun!
Really cool game with a clever control scheme. Some sound effects might add to it, to compliment the great music.
Thanks for playing!
OK I played way more than I would admit, but that banger track motivated me.
The good things: Art and Music, are wonderful. And once you get used to the controls, it is a blast to play!
Stuff to improve: once you know how to play, it is pretty much game over, since the amount of enemies will not increase, nor do they get stronger or anything.
Overall solid entry, I managed to get a score of 10.350 :D
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed the track!
Thanks for the feedback, nice highscore! I got carried away with the art, I forgot to have an increase in difficulty. Air units were planned, but cut due to dev time restraints.
Hah, interesting game, fun idea. It's certainly hard to be a pirate mech pilot! and your game illustrates this well haha. I liked the illustrations and animation, its full of character. Some sound effects would add a lot!
Thank you. Had to be ultra cautious with my sparce development time, so I left out soundFX. Luckily Silver Alcid delivered a dope track.
Cool little game. The art looks pleasant and the controls are very interesting although aiming is a bit hard. The music is good, but there don't seem to be any sound effects at all.
Yeah I deliberately left out the SFX to focus my (very limited) time on other stuff. I pretend that the music is bangin so loud that it drowns out all sounds.
Hello gamemaker user ! (like me) The game is very funny and humoristic !
The pirate mech ambiant is good, and your illustration rocks. This is clever, and effective, the control are original, but it maybe difficult to aim correctly.
Tiny tanks are my nighmare ! But the pirate have one hand so its logical ! The choice of the music is little out of context but it work because the theme of the game is cartoon after all. Good work !
Thanks for the feedback. I want to move from gamemaker studio 1 to godot, but I'm so used to GMS1 now. I'd rather make games than learn a new engine. And it's not like GMS1 is restricting me in any way.
Gamemaker user since GMS1, I have move to gamemaker studio 2 when export was free. I’ve try Godot, unity, unreal. The most important is to choose the engine which you are the easier for you, and not limit you technically (but honestly gamemaker have also 3d display like you can see with my prototype).
Thanks for playing! I’m the composer, can you tell me why the music felt out of context to you? I’m new to video game scoring, not to music, so your opinion would help me for next time!
Silver Acid your music is good, but this seems like i’m in a techno parade not into a mech and not into a pirate game. For video game there is multiple choice, ambiant music with mechanics sound, with any style but more relaxing, like you’re on hostile planet for example, or an action music because this is a scoring game, and i think you tried the second choice but in my opinion that not fit totally to game.
Yeah at first I also thought the music goes too hard for a mech game. But because I had to leave out soundFX I'm happy that the track goes "full brigallion" like it's overpowering any noises.
I really liked the art for this I saw on the discord, so it was the first game I tried! It rocks, the realization that you have to do everything with the one hand made me laugh out loud, and it's oddly satisfying to move up and down furiously over the fire button instead of clicking. I hope you make 100 more pirate ghost mech games.
Yo ho ho! Ye comment be more dear to me heart than a chest full of gold doubloonies. And you can lay to that, yaarrrr!
Why does it take pirates so long to learn the alphabet? Because they spend years at C!
(I bet you thought the punchline was going to be something about aRRRRR)
He he, good one!
Was drawn to this by the cool thumbnail and the visuals didn't disappoint, the music is great as well. The controls are hard to get used to but I appreciate how unique they are. Aiming felt really bad at first but once I figured out that you have to lead your shots I got much better at it and it became fun. Highest score I got is 9750
Thanks for playing :)
Damn! You're better than I am.
I get lost on the art side regularly.
Love the music, my highscore is 8100 so far
GEEZ, I could only get to 4K this morning, I’m bad haha. Thanks for playing and listening!
That's a big boy score, congrats! That's around about my highscore too.
Quite innovative controls to have the whole game mouse only,
it’s a neat concept but the moving tanks are so hard to hit by the time i move over the fire button. I managed to get a few mechs though, and the fact that you can move frantically over the button to spam fire like crazy is very satisfying.
The artstyle is quite nice as well with its black and white color palette, the music track is also pretty cool and gets you hyped for the action ^^
Good job to both of you :)
Thanks for playing, cheers!
Thank you PMW! Yeah I'm really happy with how the game turned out with the time I had. Silver Alcid released a banger, didn't need no soundFX!! X)
This came out great, I love the style!
