omg so many Godot games! Yours particularly is awesome. I really like the visuals and the looping mechanic is super well made and creative.

The looping mechanic is pretty cool - I like multiplying a shooter and making copies, feels very at home in a retro style game. The friendly fire is a bit of a kicker though, I think it's quite difficult enough without that added in, specifically in defending the base. I think I did as much damage as my enemies. Art and sounds are great, really like this, has a very classic look and feel, and the controls are snappy, explosions are responsive, and the effects are on point. Nice work! :D

nice game, it's like a tower defence where you have to do a little loop to place a tower. bit frustrating how there's friendly fire

This was challenging at first. but creative mechanic. Game definitely has a lot to offer in future, maybe some upgrades would be cool

A very unique and creative idea!

It has great potential. :D

You may have heard enough praise, here are a few of my suggestions. (Of course, you can completely ignore it.)

I noticed that the bullets from the player clones can also hit the player, and I find it hard to judge whether this mechanism is enjoyable.

Perhaps it would be better to reduce the harm of this?

Great take on the theme! I haven't seen anything like it yet

Interesting use of the "create a clone of you that repeats the moves" idea. Friendly fire added a lot. As balancing between having as many bullets as possible and not killing your own clones was great!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you found the friendly fire to be a fun challenge. I'm debating ways to ramp up the difficulty more gradually but I do want to keep the friendly fire. Maybe I could give the player the ability to easily one-shot clones so you can cancel a loop you didn't like. Anyway, thanks for playing and for the review!

what a cool way of doing the looping character thing! quite challenging, but fun. nice work!

Really interesting idea!

This is a really creative game concept! It ended being quite challenging especially because everything damages the ship and station but I think this is a very smart way to add strategy to a shoot-em-up or bullet hell. Great job!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing! (-:

So cool to see a game in this jam where the player creates independent loops/clones that aid them as units in combat, it was a mechanic that I really wanted to explore but just didn't get the opportunity to. Great stuff!

Developer

Ooh, when I read this comment, the phrase "aid them in combat" gave me a bunch of ideas. Like, if there was an ability that buffed players and clones within a certain radius and then you close a loop so that you trigger that buff repeatedly... got me thinking. Thanks for playing!

Never seen another person use this mechanic before, really cool! Great work! :D

Developer

Thanks for the kind words!

Good game. I found the clones more cumbersome than helpful due to friendly fire. I would kill all the smaller enemies and then make tiny circles to attack the bosses.

Good balance. The beginning was a little hard but that's because I hadn't gotten gud yet.

Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the helpful feedback. I was thinking I could reduce the damage on the friendly fire a little bit. I'd still keep it because I think it makes it interesting but maybe it doesn't have to be so punishing.

Neat idea, I'd like some better balancing. I found it quite difficult to manage moving, shooting, and making clones all at once, maybe if there was a slower ramp up to let you get your bearings before the station was fully bombarded.

Developer(+1)

I agree it's dropping the player right in the deep end. After voting is over I think first order of business will be to make an actual learning curve instead of a learning cliff! Anyway, thanks for playing and for the feedback.

The idea is super interesting! I never managed to win (my station was always destroyed even when I tought there were no enemies around) but trying to create and place shooting clones to defend the station is a very smart twist to tower defence! I'd like to see more of this!

Developer(+2)

Might've been the friendly fire but thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely be updating this one... quite a few ideas got left on the table to beat the deadline.

i found it impossible to create a clone! after crossing my trail over and over again, nothing ever spawned :( Interesting idea though, well done!

Developer

Okay, that's definitely a bug. Sorry you ran into that. If it's not too much trouble, may I ask which browser / OS you were using and whether you were running full screen or in the page? Either way thanks for letting me know this is happening.

Submitted

yeah for sure! I'm using the Brave browser and running in the page, no fullscreen.

This is quite challenging for me, but I like it! I've played multiple rounds but never managed to defend successfully. Still a fun game though!

Developer

Wasn't until after the deadline that I realized I'd made it way too hard. Next time I'll just have to do more playtesting. Thanks for trying it and I'm glad you had fun!
