Solid first entry! Really enjoyed my time with the game. The upgrades were nice and useful and progression felt balanced. Nice feedback and fx for your actions and a decent amount of content. Great work!

It's weird to say, but the worst moment in this game was winning. I was heaving so much fun upgrading and being more and more OP, and then I tried out the portal and all my progress was gone??
This just means I enjoyed it that much more! Crazy good first jam game!

Developer

Thanks!

It seems like a very common point of feedback which is crazy to me, definitely not what I would have thought I would have heard when publishing this

People don't like it when you take their hard earned bombs ;)

Sounds like I need to issue the great bomb refund

Great entry for the first game! I'm glad you added screen shake, it definately made it more satisfying. And progression was quite balanced. It was quite simple but enjoyable.

Cool mix of Minecraft and Dig Dug. It was actually really fun! It took a good bit of searching to find the portal, but I did it at last! Good game!

Perfect understanding of keep it simple. Easy to start playing and hard to stop ;) All the polish you did really makes a difference! Love the pickaxe included into the song and THE CAMERA SHAKE.  Masterfully done ⛏

One of the most satisfying games I've played. I literally could not stop. You did a great job with balancing the game and the random generation!! My only problem is the Minecraft art isn't super original. But this game definitely has a lot of potential and you should 100% make it a full game.

Developer

Thank you!

The art was definitely a compromise so thank you for the feedback on that part

Nice game. Took me 28 days. maybe make timer a bit longer at the start, or make the bonuses bigger. felt like I am never really exploring. but once you get enough bonuses it does get addicting. good job.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

This was a really enjoyable game! Very easy to pick up and play and surprisingly addictive. Its a perfect fit for this game jam. Great work!

Mindless fun! This looks like a good clasic and got me wanting to avoid portals to become a rock chomping beast.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked your game. You could add the option to continue, after escaping.

Developer

I’m thinking about trying to expand the whole gameplay loop! I’ve gotten some great suggestions on how that might be possible

Well made and compact Gameplay. Simple but fun. Great art and Sounds, and I'm sure this can look and sound even better with enough time. The premise keeps you engaged so great work overall!

Very satisfying gameplay you have here. The game is really polished and responsive. This gives of the terraria/minecraft -ish feeling. A bit more work on the art and more contents are all this game need. Great job!

Very interesting gameplay loop! The controls feel responsive and the mining feels good! More levels would be nice, maybe having the first level a lot smaller, and every new portal you advance to a bigger level with some changes to the stone/dirt colors to make it feel like a new level; maybe even add in more valuable ores each level! As currently with the random placement of the portal, it seems like a good run where you find a portal is more random than rewarding. Regardless, that was a fairly good game and I very much enjoyed it!

Fun game, nice tight gameplay loop that keeps you coming back for more!

Super fun! One of my absolute faves in the jam so far. There's a lot of nice game feel/juice in the particle effects and screen shake, and it just feels good to explore and mine away to your heart's content :) Would definitely play more of this one if you add new features/gadgets/upgrades/biomes/objectives after the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a ton! I'm thinking after the jam is up I'll do a final update for this jam version just so it's a bit more complete!

Had a good time playing this! Great game loop, satisfying to play. If you keep developing it - I think it'd be a lot of fun to make the map larger and the upgrades have a larger effect on the player. I got a lot of speed upgrades, but didn't feel like that I was moving that much faster, maybe that's just a preference thing though! Really nice job overall. Crazy it's your first jam!

Developer(+1)

If I go further I'll definitely need to pretty much restart from scratch because the whole codebase is the signature game jam spaghetti. I am really thinking about it though!
