Great little metroidvania platformer! I think my biggest gripe would be some awkward platforming layout. There were many times I couldn't wall bounce because there was a platform above my head. It didn't feel like it added to the difficulty but just added to the clunkiness of moving around. I really do like the wall bounce idea though and when it works its very fun to use. Great job for four days.

I liked it had fun !

The lasso/grapple feature is very satisfying, and mixes well with the multi-purpose dash, nice movement!

I love the sonic style dash, the bouncing and grapple felt good. Maybe some power ups that increase dash length or allow you to reset the dash mid air.

This game really captured that Metroidvania feeling for me of seeing something I couldn’t get to and reminding me of it until I found a new item. Well done for doing this in four days!

Impressive game! This game perfectly combines my love of Sonic and donuts. I struggled a bit with making successful dash jumps but the game is forgiving and fun.

Props to building a MetroidVania game in 4 days, that's an accomplishment to be proud of. The game is at it's best when you string together a bunch of moves, like lasso-ing and then dashing into a wall and then grabbing onto the ring you lasso'd onto. The controls are a bit awkward at times but other than that this is a good time.

Developer

Thanks a lot!

It would be great if you could elaborate on why the controls were awkward, id love to patch some issues with the game once the jam is over.

Personally for me, it's just the layout. J and L  are little too close to WASD so it felt a little awkward. I think control rebinding or alternative control layouts would go a long way.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, i'll keep that in mind for the future.

nice creation with gameplay like sonic with catching the rings

Submitted

Controls can be a little finicky sometimes, but this is a fun and delightful game.

Submitted

Wow, I like the idea!

Submitted

Really great. I feel like the controls are a tad awkward, I think it has to do with the jumping and bouncing off walls mostly. The Halo mechanic I really like.

Submitted

Great

Not my type. But it quite good and casual

you sure you had only four days, you build a whole metroidvania in this time, and I played the whole thing (30/35 donuts before the end screen)

reminded me a lot of the action chaining from mario odyssey to make thes insane long jumps

but that the space bar also acts as "up" on the slings is a bit jank

Developer

Actually mario odyssey was exactly the inspiration for chaining moves so well spotted.

The controls could definitely use some finetuning, I just hope it was nothing too egregious.

Thanks for playing!

Really came together with the dual use of the grapple points, had some great sequences there. I did think the float was a little stiff though, just sure why but it felt a bit unresponsive going from float to dash.

Not sure if the dash was sonic inspired but it does bring up an interesting possibility of a momentum based metroidvania.

the wall bounce with the dash is fun, super polished for the timeframe

Submitted

At first I wasn't really convinced, but after getting acquainted with the dash, slingshot and grapple mechanics I enjoyed this a hella a lot. Great stuff sir

Submitted

I beat it! Great game! Fun and challenging.

Developer

Congrats! Really glad you enjoyed it.

Submitted

It's not my type of game, but the platforming and jump from the wall feels satisfying.

Music is 10/10
