Huh, this seems neat, but I gotta be honest, I didn't get it at all :D Took me a while to realize that the display on the left was a knotting machine and even after that, while I did realize that I needed to balance numbers, I didn't really understand how the system worked (I suppose it's something base-4-y, but then there's also this thing with the empty knots and stuff, so maybe it's just math beyond my understanding). I guess this is a discovery game so I wouldn't be too on the nose with tutorials, but I'd still like some better player guidance. Maybe have some more examples of working setups that players can use to derive rules from? Apart from that, this seems interesting, and the cat is very cute!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! You're really close to getting it, so I'll leave you to try if you'd like. I'm working on a bit of an introduction, trying not to be too on the nose, as you said, cause it's not a system that's too straight forward. I'm glad you liked the game! I hope you try it again after the post-jam update!

Absolutely love it! Really cool idea, like others have said, a little tutorial would be welcomed. Maybe have a little space where you can temporary put the ropes, had trouble picking the rope I wanted sometimes, I believe it's last in first out, but maybe something like outlining it and being able to choose would be a nice quality of life. But other than that this is super cool! Art is soo cute! Love the rope physics and the sounds. A Lot of levels for a jam! For now I go stuck on a level, for some reason everything is green, but door doesn't open? I feel like it's not the solution, but probably just a bug. I'll comeback to try and finish it. With little work, I can see this being a full game, impressive work!

Hey, thanks for the amazing feedback! I didn't think of highlighting the rope that you're picking, sounds awesome! Yes, they are last in first out, I should be able to make it your choice! On the bug tho, there's a programming oversight in which there are more combinations that get the slots green than there are ways to open the door, cause its checking fewer components (the sum of the ropes divided by the amount of slots is equal to the first slot and it makes everything green. works for most cases, bugs if threw linked cause there's cases like yours there...). It was a known bug that I didn't have time to fix lol. On another note, I'm glad you liked the game! I'll work to remove these known bugs and put the tutorial in so it's a completed product!

Ohh ok that make sense!

I actually managed to finish :D I’ll have to check back in when updated!

Cute game, loves the pixel art, physics, animation. The puzzle is bit confusing but still fun experience XD

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! I'm working on a tutorial level to hopefully make the puzzles less confusing

can't wait for the update of this game!

Fun game, I like how much you've gotten out of the simple idea of knots in a rope it's really creative! Also the art is super cute, good job!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it, and I'm glad you liked it!

Pretty fun puzzle game with some cute artwork, had me racking my brain for some of the solutions (was quite a bit of work getting my head around the rules, but it went smoothly once it clicked). I did have some trouble with completing the siblings puzzle though, I’m not sure if I just missed how the 3 slot puzzles work or if I encountered a bug.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! There's some stuff working weirdly with the levels that have multiple rope catchers (slots). There are some unplanned mechanics on activating them and so on, but they majorly worked ok, just some visual bugs that I remember. Could I ask for a print of the bug if you found it, and are able to replicate it? It'd be greatly appreciated!

Submitted

Yeah sure, got screenshot of the bug just didn’t think I’d add it to the top level reply. siblings puzzle

Developer

Got it! It's working as intended, tho! The mechanics may not be as clear as I hoped, I'll work on something to make it clearer! To try to get it, I'd suggest you go back to the "Friends" level, that should explain it! I'll make some more levels with this mechanic as well, so there's a better learning curve ^^

Amazing cat animation in the load screen; seriously 10/10 vibes there. The overall presentation was great; super clean and clear what to interact with. Conceptually, I found it quite hard to get into. I was pretty confused how to balance the knots on level 2, for example, so some clearer instructions would be cool (unless I missed them?). Great presentation and unique concept :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the loading screen animation, I did put in a good effort on that! The game does not have clear instructions, indeed, I'll be working on a brief tutorial level to put in the game when the jam's over!

I find that game very cute, with unique artstyle and smart levels. It's not always obvious what kind of ropes should I put, but still. One of the best games I've played for now ^-^

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! I'll work on a brief tutorial level to put in the game and hopefully teach the player better how to use the knots!

We loved the visuals and the idea. It took us a while to figure out what we were supposed to but it was very satisfying to progress nevertheless. Great job!

Thanks! I appreciate it!

fellow math submitter w!! nerds unite

i liked the incorporation of knot theory in here, and how you extended the mechanics past basic tying of knots. the pixel art is also really good and i just cant find anything wrong with a game that has that cute of a cat

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll make sure to play your game as well, math enjoyment is an art!

The game felt very cosy to play, although I wasn't too sure about what I needed to do, and when I needed to reset the level. It could be a very cool puzzle game if it had a slightly more intuitive early game/tutorial. Nice work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to leave a little bit of a tutorial on the description, but the game really needs a tutorial as it seems... I'll add it as soon as the jam ends!

Submitted

Cute and it has a cat :D. And a very nice idea. But I didn't really get the rules of what do to tbh. I think if I had figured that out (maybe I am also too tired right now :D) the game would've been so much more fune.

Still I can see what the game is/should be and I like that!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have a how to play in the description!

Sometimes reading is of essence :D.
I re-read the description and found the explaining part at the end.

Make the circles balanced to progress!

Sorry for that.

Developer(+1)

No worries! I put that in after your feedback, tho, so thanks for that! I'll design an actual tutorial for the game as soon as the jam ends, so it stands completed!

Submitted

Liked the pixel art and cozy vibes, ran out of braincell

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'll try out your game as well!

Cute but I could not figure out how to play despite trying for 10 minutes and looking at the controls several times

Developer

Thanks! I'll put in a how to play at the description!

Submitted

Really cute game! I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to play but I love the attention to detail and the art!

Developer

Thanks! I didn't really make a tutorial, guess I should've, right? I'll put in a basic how to play at the page!
