KNOT GAMES RISE UP! This game was great, super chill knot tying experience. It felt very meditative. Also big kudos on the knot tying physics system it works really well!

It's very interesting and fun! Very cosy and relaxing gameplay.

I think it would be nice to have a button to go back to the homescreen. I had to refresh the page to switch between the main game and free play.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! There should have been a way through the pause menu or the game should have booted you back after the voiceover finished, but I'll do some more bug testing :)

Damn such a cool experience! Also how the heck did you manage to tie the knot in the last screenshot?

Developer

Haha, while testing I got pretty good with the controls. A longer string will allow for more complex knots, but I kept the length short-ish for web performance. So I'll add in after the jam!

Speaking as a Mathematician I blooming loved this! Would be really cool to add in some knot theory and use this as a sneaky way to teach people about a whole section of maths that simply isn't covered in schools.

As a game also great :) Viva la revolucion ;)

Developer

Thanks! As I'm someone pretty from maths myself, I'm glad it still felt good! I wanted to dive into more complex knots, knot theory and a more educational angle, but the physics challenges were enough to melt my brain... haha.

Felt like I was in a museum!

Cool simulation and obviously nice narrative, I wish I could change the length of the string.

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion! It was at the top of my list of things to add by the end of the jam, but didn't get the time. Will defo add it in once the jam's over :)

Chill vibes and like the narration which added another layer to the gameplay. I did try to make as many knots as possible but the knots seemed to let loose after a while (not sure if that is supposed to part of it or a physics issue).

Developer

Thanks for playing! The physics does fall apart a little under lots of strain, especially in the browser version 8)

Chill and satisfying, really cool take on the theme !

Went in expecting a puzzle game about tying knots, somehow ended up with a strong urge to form a union. Not sure what happened there in-between.

10/10 comment, made my day, haha
Thanks for playing!

nice game, i like the concept. great job.

Damn! the physics are so fun to play with! Did not expect this to be so philosophical, as well. Attempted (with little success xD) to make a figure 8 knot

wow! love the atmosphere, and you have actual narration too. really cute, fun, game.

Such a cute, experimental, and artsy game. I really liked the voiceover. :) I felt like the controls were a bit finicky at times, but that's a minor complaint.

Loved every single second playing this, if only this could be played during lectures for topology.. my illusion was slightly broken though when the knots seemed to unravel themselves without any movement

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes the knots can be a littly janky, especially in browser... But adds to the mystery I suppose, haha.

very cool experience. I loved the string interactions on a experiential level, and the clever connection between the spoken audio and the input prompts. the interactions were super intuitive, I figured out the forward and backward moving before it was explained haha. really nice little game!

The narrative feels like in Getting Over It. Fits the theme perfectly I played with it a bit. Pretty hard to control but you get used with it eventually. Cool game over all

Developer

Thanks for playing, Getting Over It was exactly the inspo for the VO. So, glad that came across :)
